  1. I'm on de R&D phase of a massage candle. I'm planning to use 8oz tins...I using a recipe I found in the web that use shea butter, almond oil...mango butter and eco soy wax. I did a trial with a Peak pre-tabbed 2 in zinc wick. It burns but once it get to the pool it turn off, and no way to light it again. I change the wick in my next trial for a cotton one...same results... I thought it was the container (I use a glass container like the jelly one)...I change the container no success either...so now I'm planning to buy 8 on tin...but I will like a litter help from the experts with the wick that I may use.

Another question: I could possible that the mix (Butter, oils and ecosoy wax) is the problem?....any?

    TIA,

  2. The freezer is a good way to weaken the layers. Other than that, usually pouring too cool will keep them from adhering well. I usually poke the relief holes in each layer, then again at the last pour, going all the way through. It helps the layers blend together a bit more.
    At what temp you pour?
  3. I’m using IGI-1274 for layered candles. Pouring at aprox. 180º to 200º. Being doing this for about two years and never had a crack between layers. Yesterday one customer came back with two 1” x 8” candle cracked between one layer to another…I thought that the candle fell and for that reason it cracked…but this morning I was going to move a new candle that I did yesterday and when I wrap it, it also crack in my hands…so now I’m wondering if there is possible due to hot environmental temp that this happen or if there could be any “good” reason for this to happen. Any idea out there for this?…Oh I forgot I used to place candles in freeze to unmold them…but again I use to do this.

  4. Amazing that it takes filing a dispute to get action of any kind. Shame that goes on, but I had that trouble with yet another company too ... Spiritcrafts. Maybe we need a list of taking a risk with these suppliers? :lipsrseal

I think this is very good idea...if we generate a stick thread of poor supplier this may help other to safe money and time...in the other hand this may be a little tricky, cuz if someone want to harm somebody for personal reasons we are giving them the tool for that...maybe we needs to see how it can be done without harming goods supplier....but I definetely think that a stick thread for this could be a very-very good tool for buyer like me.

  5. Just to update:

But I had to update that I did received my goods almost a month ago from the day she collet the money and almost 15 days since she said that she sent the goods to me. Additional comments:

I'm from Puerto Rico...I had to trust people that sell's goods and is very dissapointing and frustating to send money, be colleted and don't receove nothing. WHen you buy something id because you need it...and if I don't play with my customer money, why a supplier play with mine. I work hard for the money as Donna say, why people don't do the same. Taking advantage from customer is a bad practice and very deshonest.
