Hi!  I'm looking to find a new supplier for some of my ingredients for bath/body products (carrier oils, vegetable butters, and EO).  I've used Camden-Grey but something in their products is making my skin react (burning); can't pinpoint it yet, still testing.  Just curious if anyone has purchased from Cibaria before, what your experience was and thoughts on quality.  Please let me know of other companies that you'd recommend for larger quantities too!  Want to find high quality ingredients but affordable.  Thanks in advance!

Just curious if anyone has used the  10oz recycled Spanish glass jars.  If so, what wicks do you use???  I'm having trouble finding the right one...trying csn and eco wicks.  Thanks in advance!

I feel as if I'm getting a decent melt pool but I've read that those jars can be tricky bc of the shape.  I will try my new jars and see what happens.  What wicks do you like?  I just bought those bc I didn't really know so I thought I'd start with them.  They burn clean, don't see smoke but maybe I need to try different wicks. 

Okay, I've read that but I've also read that if you add the fragrance oils at too high of a temp, then they can "burn off".  Is there truth to that?  Certainly don't want anything to combust while making candles, but I'd like to make sure I'm adding my oils most effectively   Thanks for the info!

Good thought, I haven't noticed too many wet spots or too much frosting on top of my candles to worry too much, but I think it's because I'm still trying to just figure out how to get a good scent throw!  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...I've been adding a 6-8% fragrance load at 185 if the flashpoint is above that or at the flashpoint if it's above 130.  I've used ECO-14 and ECO-16 wicks in my tureen jars.  Could I be adding my fragrance at the wrong temp and it's evaporating?  I've bought new jars to try that are straight sided so I can better judge the wicks since I'm just beginning.  Curious when you guys add your fragrance and if you have any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong!  Thanks!

Good to know!  I'll have to try pouring at that temp!  Do you add your fragrance at a specific temp or do you vary it depending on their flashpoint?

keep us posted on your comparison of the two waxes, I'd like to hear about the differences . I've read so many different things that it gets confusing!  I have been pouring at 135.  When I poured at 110 and pre-warmed my jars, I felt like there was more frosting and not as good glass adhesion.  With that said, I'm very new so it could just be me!

Yes, some of the names are different and the lady I spoke with at Lebermuth said that they may have slightly different names but they are true lebermuth oils.  I confirmed this with BA before I purchased.  BA told me that they are true Lebermuth oils unless they say "our version" and then they are blended by BA.  OOB, I really liked all of them except buttercream icing (smells like powder to me) and scotch pine.  I tested butterscotch, candy cane, and pineapple mango (which smells exactly like BBW's version OOB).  I'll keep you posted

I'm having a hard time finding scents I like and that are strong enough...I'm very new so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong!  I'll just keep experimenting!

Okay, I ordered from bulk apothecary bc I could get smaller amounts than through lebermuth and they said that bulk apothecary sold their oils.  I got butterscotch cookie dough, candy cane, maple cream, scotch pine, buttercream icing, and pineapple mango (that's bulk apothecary's own fragrance).  I tried a few but didn't put in my normal 6-8% load so it will be interesting on how they smell :/  

Hi!  I just purchased some lebermuth fragrance oils and I'm just curious as to what percentage of fragrance load everyone uses with these oils.  According to the website, you use a fraction of what you'd normally use.  Thanks!

I've been reading and experimenting with pouring the GB 464 wax at different temps.  I've poured at 135 degrees and 110 degrees.  I feel like I get some slight frosting, not much and pretty good glass adhesion but realized that I should clean the inside of the jar first, oops!  I've also tried warming the jars.  So, what temp do you guys pour at and do you warm your jars?  Thanks in advance!  

Thank you!  I completely agree about being handmade and such, that's why I started making them.  I just want to make sure I'm making the best candle I can...and I think I can be my worst critic sometimes    I love the label making and packaging as much as making the product itself!  Thanks again for everyone's advice, I think I just need to keep experimenting!  

Oh man, I hope I'll be able to smell them once I start making them!  I used 1oz FO per 1# of wax which is about 6%.  I only poured once.  I waited a full 7 days, didn't think I needed to wait longer :/  I've always bought Yankee candles so that's the potency that I'm used to...  I'm sure I just need to change things up a bit so any more helpful tips would be great!  Thanks!!!

Hey!  I'm new to making candles...burning my first poured candles!  So, I used 464 soy wax, carmelized pralines from CS, and used an 8oz tureen jar.  I tried an ECO 16 wick in one, (2) ECO 10 wicks in another, and (2) ECO 8 wicks in another as well.  I found that the double wicks were burning too much wax at one time (wax pool was too big) but it seems as if the single wick isn't burning quite enough...it's burning clean without leaving wax on the edges but is taking quite a long time to get a wax pool, if that makes sense!  With that said, it seemed like after a few hours, I could smell the candle well but now when I've tried to burn it again, I'm not getting as strong of a scent/throw like I did the first time...not sure what I need to do differently with my next batch???  Any advice would be great!  Thanks in advance!!!

Hi!  I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for a good coconut fragrance oil for lotion bars.  I've tried one but I don't care for it.  I don't want anything perfumy, just something that reminds you of the beach, if that makes sense!  Thanks in advance!

I'm so glad I found this site!  So much great info and knowledge that's shared!  So, hopefully you guys can help...I just purchased some 2 oz natural twist-up tubes and when I received them, all of the caps have numbers etched into them...is that how all of them are or did I just buy from an odd place???
