Thank you so much for all this wonderful information . I'm going to make up cd8,10, htp93 and 2 premiers maybe a 760 and 765, I'm going to use 6% fragrance , cure for 2 weeks and will report back with pics on the burns (if that's ok) .

Hi kandlekrazy,
Thank you for reply . Please can I ask why do you twist the htp wicks ? Also do you temper the c3 wax?
Many thanks

Hi old glory ,
Thanks for your reply .
I do have some premiers , unfortunately I don't think I can get all sizes of premiers as I am in the uk and the only place I can get them is flaming candle and I don't think they stock all sizes .
Would you have a starting point on what wick size to use in the 8oz ball jelly jar ? Many thanks

I have been testing from cd 6 and upwards . I think I need to start my testing off again , I will make up 3 jars with the cd8,10 and htp93 , will cure for 2 weeks and start testing again . I don't think I have tried the cd10 in this jar yet.
Do you temper the c3? I get lots of bubbles in the melt pool and have been reading about tempering , sorry one more question do your trim your wicks before each burn ? Many thanks for your time.

Hi,
Thanks so much for your reply .
The jar I am using is the 8oz ball quilted jelly jar , I think it is roughly 2 inches wide ?
I have been going with the c3 on and off for about a year now and no matter what I do I just can't get them to burn nice , scent throw is good but the burn doesn't look good . I burn from anything from 3 hours or a longer power burn , the burns start off good but the problems start at halfway point when I start getting a full melt pool , it seems that once I get a full melt pool that's when the mushrooming or these tiny little glowing balls appear all over the wick. I do use 6% of less with some oils .
Thank you

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can offer some advise please .
I have been using c3 wax and small jars that have a diameter of roughly 58mm wide , I have been using 6% fragrance and the scent throw is good the problem I have is the wicking . I have been using cd wicks and trying to wick so that I do not have to trim the wicks . I have purchased other candles where they get no mushrooming and the wick does not need to be trimmed so I have tried making that my goal. The burns start off good but once the candles hits halfway (normally get a fm at that point) the wicks start to mushroom or get these tiny balls all over them . I'm not sure what I am doing wrong ?
Many thanks
