I agree with Flicker. You've got too many things going on. Choose one wax and work with it for a while. If it doesn't meet your expectations, move on to the next one.
As a starting point maybe try.... 4627 with zinc wicks. I've used that combo successfully in the past. As far as cure time, I burn within 24 - 48 hours using 4627.
I'm testing 4630 now but so far I'm not overly impressed with the hot throw but it's a new wax for me so I'm not giving up yet.

Not sure what your vision was for this one but the results are fabulous!

Impressive!! Congrats on your super-sized wax melter.
And I'm over here just wishing my presto pot had a spigot.

Gorgeous soap!

I'm pouring a couple more test candles this weekend, Peak's fruit slices and blackberry sage.
I'm also going to pour a pink sugar test candle with a sample of 4630 wax that I just got in.

Thanks guys. No signs of mice or bugs. The box is completely intact and the wax looks and smells fine.
I was mainly concerned that the high / low extremes in temperature over six years may possibly have done something to deteriorate the quality of the wax.
I'll pour a candle with it and see how it goes. Thanks for the quick responses. You guys are awesome!

I have a case of 4627 that has been sitting in a non temp controlled environment for about 6 years.
I've done a search but can't find the answer to this particular question so....... Can wax go bad? Any reason I should not use it?

Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing it with us.

TallTayl - Do you sell fragrance oils or are you duping them for you own use? Did anyone possibly have Satsuma Guava duped?

I've used BCN in the past and they worked really well. I just recently purchased some from Aztec and I'm not impressed. It's been over a week and the oil still isn't absorbed. I'm mixing the same ratios as with the beads from BCN. So, I'll be buying them from BCN from now own. Just my 2 cents!

Bummer! I really liked some of their oils.

It appears that The Scent Works is no longer in business. Did another company pick up any of their oils?
I loved their Satsuma Guava, Oakmoss and Green Irish Tweed for soaping. They also had a lemon something that I loved but I can't remember the name right now

Thanks for all the recommendations. I'll be placing an order with Aztec soon. Just waiting for that $1 sample sale.
Definitely going to try their Blackberry Sage & Sea Minerals. Now, to goo take a look and see what else looks interesting.

I don't sell but personal floral favorites would be Honeysuckle Jasmine and Lavender.

Thanks OldGlory.
I'm about a 3 1/2 - 4 hour drive from Aztec. I've never tried too many of their oils, not sure why but I'll order some samples.
I loved Peak's Blackberry Sage, how does Aztec's compare?

I'm getting ready to order a few oils to play around with so.......what's your top 3?
From my previous days in candle making, my top 3 were.....
Peak - Pink Sugar
Peak - Amish Harvest
CandleScience - Honeysuckle Jasmine

Just wanted to say hello. It's been a long time.......
I've been lurking around the board reading for a couple of weeks and decided to order supplies. They have arrived and I'm ready to heat up the presto pot and see what happens. I feel like I'm starting new all over again........wick testing I haven't made a candle or a batch soap in about six years but I'm excited to get started. ~ Judy
