  1. I bought them from Tradewinds. Pretty reasonable for the sampler of all the bottles. Then you can print a color chart and it tells you how to mix the 8 different colors to make more colors.
  2. I used the Select Shades. The only morphing that I have experienced was with the Hyacinth Chula Orchid when I tried to get purple and instead I got that aqua color. They are nice, very concentrated, easy to blend.
  3. Okay, guys! Sorry I have been on the quiet side but I have been busy with my recovering husband (foot surgery), work, and my soap! Enjoy! And, if I participate in the swap, I would only be able to share the Hyacinth Chula Orchid. The other three are for a swap! http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23475
  4. I made this recipe up from scratch using the guidelines on "making your own soap recipe." Got to try my Misty Creek mold...very nice! Hopefully this will work! The four soaps! Finally, my blend of Patchouli EO with Amber and Vanilla FO. This is for the man in my life who wanted something not so foofy. http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/1015/dsc0081128ev.th.jpg' alt='dsc0081128ev.th.jpg'>
  5. Well, I cut up a batch that I made yesterday with a different FO but with the same recipe and although the lye had that funky perm smell when I added the coconut milk, it didn't come out in the soap. I think that in my case the lye must have morphed my FO (JS Hyacinth Chula Orchid) into something else.
  6. I made my first soap with coconut milk and it smells like perm solution at the salon. Is that the smell that you are thinking of? I just made a batch a couple of days ago and it seems to be less "stinky" than the first day. I never had this smell before so I thought it must be the coconut milk.
  7. First...Welcome! Where in So Cal do you live? And, what are you looking to buy? The most expensive will be waxes and jars/containers. Shipping for FO's, wicks and such are not too bad.
  8. Just thinking out loud, but I wonder if you could add some sweetener (not sugar of course) like stevia or splenda. Maybe that might make it more palatable. But, not sure if the lye might do something to the molecules that might make it bitter. I wouldn't use aspartame (Nutrasweet) because I would guess that it would split the molecules up and have a bitter effect rather than sweet (the reason you can't bake with Nutrasweet).
  9. Don't use the link that is in the e-mail. Go into paypal on your own, using your link, search engine, etc and check if there was a transaction. I just got one this week from "paypal" that actually had my full name on it rather than paypal user. I forwarded it to spoof@paypal.com and they verified that it was a phishing e-mail. Don't trust any e-mails that seem to come from paypal!
  10. I have a couple of recipes in mind. The FO is the next thing. Hopefully, I will get my Misty Creek mold on Monday and I will be making soap!

  12. Wow! Now that is a pretty batch o' soap! Great job!
  13. These are so adorable. It looks like the "water" is moving in the log mold! You rock, girlfriend!
  14. Wow...the discoloration of both bars is absolutely gorgeous! Brenda and Robin...you have some purty soaps there! And, I love sandalwood!
  15. You can typically find it at health food stores...it might be with the oils or it could be with the vitamins. Vegans use it on their food for fatty acid supplement, especially the raw food enthusiasts.
