Sending you a pm.
I didn't get your pm.

Thanks, I'll check it out!!

I've searched the web, but only find outdated ones.
I look at this one all the time....and was wondering if there are others.
-
Are there any other craft boards out there that you visit for ideas?
TIA

I sell both, but more of the dipped than injected. It really depends on a number of things really...the kind of critters you have for scenting is a biggie. Some critters just dont look good or do well dipped, where the longer haired critters do better because they can be combed so the wax doesnt chunk up on the critter.
I have had requests for injecting instead of dipping because the injecting you can make less strong than the dipped ones. Sometimes the dipped ones can be overpowering until they have set out for a bit, and that mostly depends on the FO itself, wax etc.
Not sure if I have helped at all with your question or just confused you more, sorry
Thanks for the info!!

Like I said, not familiar with the injected at all and was wanting someone's insight that had experience.................

Which .......makes the best product? is the best seller? is your favorite?I've only read a couple of posts about the injected ones.....could someone give more detail.Karen

Thanks for both of your thoughts on this.
Maybe I just need to burn someone else's candle in the same place and compare the scent throw.
I just want to make a quality candle.

I make 8 oz sq masons and usually burn them in a living/kitchen area which is probably close to half of my 28' x 60' double wide home. How strong should the scent be?
How is it determined how large of an area a candle should fragrance? Also how quick should you be able to smell it?
Thanks for letting me use your nose!!!

Cincinnati Container (513-874-6874) my salesman is Jerry Haley. Since it is close I do not have to pay for shipping. The jars are 15 case min. at $7.94 per 24. Get the lids there too by the case of over 900. But watch the price of lids, if they have to order just a case for you they are more.
for the info.......

See if this is right, please. I average my FO at $20 per lb. My candles have 9 oz of wax and I put 1.5 oz FO per lb of wax. I figure it cost $1.08 per candle for FO alone. Jars are sq. Mason at .33 each; bottom sticker is .02; lid is .10; hang tag is .03; fabric to hang tag about .03; wick .05; wax .36 for 9oz; .25 for miss. supplies and electric. So $2.20 my cost, wholesale for $5.50. And I think I get most this at a fairly good cost but not good enough..... Need to bring down the cost of FO, my goal for the future.
May I ask where you get sq. masons for .33 and lids for .10.............

I agree pouring up into the neck....otherwise they look skimpy. Just wondered if that affected the craters or sink holes. Poured a couple last night, and put back the in jar box to cool.........only had a small crack around the edge...................guess that's the secret!!!!
Happy candling!!!!

Where do you stop filling on the 8 oz square mason for a single pour? I want to fill into the base of the neck, but have a horrible time with sink holes. I use Ecosoya 135 and pour at 135.........open for any suggestions...........

www.fillmorecontainer.com has 16 oz square masons, I believe
Thanks!!

square masons in 8 and 16 oz---got them on both my waxes on the first try. Now don't get me started about my apothecaries.......
Me, too, on 8 oz square Masons........use Eco 8............where do you get the 16 oz square Masons...........
-
I'll give heating the jars a try.........

Do you have any problems with the EcoSoya 135 frosting or having rough tops? I'm ready to throw up my hands with this wax. What temp do you pour? Do you use additives? I poured the 70/30 sample from GL and really liked the end result.

the 70/30 looks great!!! Poured two 8 oz square Mason jars/Eco 8's/Peak's Jamaica Me Crazy/liquad dye...3 red, 1 orange, 1 yellow/heated to 195, pour @ 150. Result: a smooth and creamy, great colored candle.....a good cold throw.......no frost or rough tops!!!!! Whooo Hooooo! Waiting a couple of days before the first burn!!
If the burn is as good as everything else..........I'll be hooked!!!

I don't use this wax, but used to get big sinkholes in C-3. Then I realized the problem was, I was filling the jar past the neck where the jar gets narrower (I was using apothecary's). Once I started putting less wax in the jar, the sinkholes were gone.
I'm new to this adventure and read the message board daily. I don't use this wax, but EcoSoya CB135 and I have the same problems........never have I read about filling the jar past where the neck narrows.......but it makes sense as I think about some past batches that I've poured.......BUT I use the 8 oz square mason jar and for it to be an 8 oz candle and for it to look good, it must be filled.............any other suggestions????
-
That's about the same time for me. I'm only using the square mason jar, haven't ventured to anything else. I use the Eco 8 wick and it does good with most all FO's I've used........1 to 1.25 oz. load. I'm in TX so I haven't used any of the companies you mentioned. How about frosting? I use liquad dye....and anything that I tend to use brown in frosts......I believe that's due to the vanilla in the FO.
I also would like to try some other soy wax, but don't know where to start. Any Texans out there in the Dallas area, give me a shout:wave: about the wax you use.
