  1. Does anyone have an idea of where i can purchase a couple electric tart/melt warmers? I am looking for the kind WITH an on/off switch and preferably ones that are 2 pieces (top comes off). (not candle or light bulb as a heat source) **shipping to Canada**

    Thanks :)

  2. I looked over that tutorial as well and...just a question....

That flower pot holder shown as the last picture....would anyone agree that perhaps that isnt the 'best' holder to burn votives in? I've tried to burn a votive in that exact holder and...BLAH what a disaster. I now burn in the tall straight votive holders and they burn beautifully....Just a thought

  3. Thanks for your suggestions...i really appreciate it.

I pour from my presto pot at about 180 degrees and mix my color/FO and away I go pouring.....

I'm afriad to pour too cool because I seem to get a film starting to form too quickly and then when I place the wick in the cup, it ruins the look...hope that makes sense.

  4. I pour the wax into the aluminum cups, wait about 2 minutes and then start putting the wicks in, one at a time, and by the time i blink, they are already starting to flop over.....

    :(

The only problems I see while burning these, are when the wax completely liquifies, the wick becomes uncentered.

Should I try glue dots for that problem? I know that wont help the falling wicks.

    Thanks

  5. I came across a website (store) which i'm not sure if I can mention who they are.....anyhow, they sell "Low Smoke Zinc Wicks" and I tried to put in an order but unfortunately they won't ship to Canada any longer...

Anyone familiar with these wicks and are they any different/better than the regular zinc wicks??

    Thanks:)

  6. I pour into my pour pot, add dye chip, FO and stir.....pour right away...all within 30 seconds so it doesn't have much time to cool much at all. I dont heat my pour pot at all. I heat from presto to about 175. What a great idea these presto pots have been! How did I survive all this time without them???

  7. I'm wondering if that could be the problem....I dont pour to the top of the votive mold because the majority of my votive HOLDERS are smaller in size so I've been trying to make smaller votives. i've been pouring about 3/4 of the votive mold on the first pour and when I top off, I just pour enough to cover the hardened top....does that make sense? Perhaps i shouldnt be doing that at all???

    Connie:rolleyes2
