I'm new to making candles and I'm wondering how you all got started with your business name. I have a cute little name to call my candle making business, but it's really just to sell to friends and family and maybe at a craft show here and there. But I didn't know if you actually have to register the name with the state or get incorporated just to sell at craft shows and such. Or do you just say this is what my candles are called?
Thanks for you help!

Thank you so much for clearing that up for me!!

I see on the threads everyone talking about using 5%, 6%, and so on for there fragrance oils. What does that mean? Is that a percentage of the wax you are using. For instance if I have 1 lb of wax then I would use the following formula:
16 oz x .05 = .8 oz of FO
Thanks so much for you help.

Bluegrass Candle is awesome. I can pour most of these FO's at 6% and get a very strong hot/cold throw. Also Candle Cocoon has some very strong and unique scents.
When you say you can pour most of these at 6%. How do you measure that?
Thanks! (I'm new to all this in case it's a stupid question)

This may be a stupid question but I'm just getting started so I thought I would ask. When the manufacture recommends say 1.5 oz. to 1 lb of soy wax, does that mean I should weight 2 oz. or use a measuring cup for 2 oz???
Thanks

I'm hoping someone can help me out as this was my first attempt to make votive candles. My mom and I made 8 votives today however 4 of them got stuck in the mold. The other 4 came out really easy. How do we get them out??? What could have happened? We made 4 of one kind and 4 of another.
Thanks so much!

So did you have to register you name before you could use it?
