  1. You can see the rate chart online here:

    http://www.precisionwicking.com/our-products/waxed-and-tabbed/atkinspearce/161.html

And it's probably cheaper to go to your local Michael's Craft store. I saw them in mine last weekend. They are kinda pretty. I compared them to my square braid rate chart, and these are the biggest wicks out there next to fiberglass Tiki torch wicks! (lol) My rep says that the Helix-20 & the Helix 7.5 are the most popular.

  2. Thanks simplybeelightful, I've purchased from both previously. I have a regular supplier who I found on ebay years ago, but now he's lowered his prices & I can't compete. I buy 300-500 each at a time. I just cannot believe through all my searching on the web I have not found one mfgr. Thought maybe someone here in the business might have the name of one.

I'll keep on searching. Wish me luck!

  3. They are just clear gloss labels I get them from labels by the sheet. I don't know how to print in white reserve. Any ideas how to do that I would love to try it.

Thanks everyone for the great responses. :)

ladysj, what size are your labels? Are they pre-cut in a standard template that you set up in a document type file? If so, I would go to the label set up document, and do a control/A to highlight all & then choose white as your text. Then after printing your sheet of labels do an "undo" or highlight all again & change the text back to black, cause it's a bit freaky to pull up the file & it looks blank.

Let me know if this works for you.

  4. Hi ChaChing, Thank you for your comments. Yes, I filled the mould with triangular chunks and then poured hot plain wax over them, tapped the outside of the mould with a spoon and then heatgunned it, to melt the coloured chunks into each other a bit. Have a go at it and if you have any further queries, feel free to contact me again.

    Cheers, Jo

Hi Jo, thanks for your reply. I found pillar techniques that I had printed in 2004 when I started candlemaking, from CraftServer & other sites. I had to laugh because one of the tutorials was your exact directions! At the time I printed them I didn't understand any of it, like it was written in a foreign language. I found another technique very similar using white chunks to fill the mold. Then melt 2 different color dye blocks (pieces) separately. Pour the filling wax over the chunks and spoon drops of the melted dye (one at a time). Let the colors swirl from the convection, and let the candle cool until it’s time for the second pour. It comes out looking tied dyed or marbled, and some of the chunks make white circles. The sample pic was done in a tall pyramid, and looks a lot like a lava lamp. Different, just thought I’d share since you were so nice to reveal your magic! :highfive:

    Have fun, ~ pat ~

  5. Excellent! I love Glass Glow wax. Love the labels too. Can you print in white reverse print for darker colored wax? Can you tell me if the label material is called "crystal clear"? I'm looking for a clear label, but all I've found is that frosted material.

    Thanks,

    good job! :yay:

  6. Hi there, I totally agree that palm wax probably won't make a good wickless. I have a customer who makes palm jar candles that actually burn great & throw scent like crazy. She sells the heck out of them, and they are PRETTY. She uses mostly HTP wicks, and 60-44-18 zinc wicks for a diameter 2-2.5", and double wicks anything larger than 2.75" with smaller HTP's. What is the name or # of your palm wax?
