Am anxious for Spring to get here, so treating myself to a spring scent. Burning "Elegant Orchid" from Bert's Heaven Scent. A fabulous throw and wonderful scent. It is now my newest favorite floral scent. I didn't even cure this jar candle for 2 days and the scent throw is incredible in 6006 wax.:rolleyes2

I've done stained glass for 10+ years. It's a wonderful but expensive hobby! A glass grinder is a must as roughing up the edges is what makes the copper foil stick better. It's heartbreaking to have the foil come loose after you've completed a project and once it's had flux around it, it will never stick to the glass again. If you want to shop online, Warner-Crivellaro (www.warner-criv.com) is a great place to shop for supplies. Hobby Lobby has their Spectrum glass on 1/2 price often so watch for those sales, but I've found their supplies are very expensive compared to online shopping. Good luck and you'll find that you have yet another addiction to support!

I am sorry Henry, but can't tell you what soy it is as I stopped using soy a long time ago... just now enough throw for me. So this is an old candle. The discussion was trying to single wick a 4" jar, which I've done with a 62 zinc. This 3 1/2" jar was single wicked as well, with a 60 zinc. I now use IGI6006 wax... great throw and good clean burn in this jar. I don't use another type jar, this one is from Fairway Glass and is their 26oz. apothecary.

Unfortunately, I do not have any 4" jars left. I had purchased some at the Dollar Tree, used them all and never have seen them there again. But I do have the 3 1/2" apothecary and will post a picture of it. I quick using the soy as I just didn't like the throw as well as 6006. There is only one fragrance I've ever had trouble with and that was "Home Sweet Home"... don't know what there is in it but the zinc wick turns white and barely burns. Now all I have to do is figure out how to post a picture! give me a minute to figure that out.

I get a good clean burn in a 3 1/2" apothecary jar with a 60 zinc wick... no hang up. In a 4" jar I've used a 62 zinc with good results, but the jar was a hex so there was a little hangup in the "hexes". I've done this with soy and also the 6006. These are single wicked jars

I searched all the supplies I have in my "favorites" and found some of the plastic discs at WSP and they are cheap! $5.50 for 50 of them, so think that will be the avenue I go down. May stay with the apothecary jars I currently use (26oz) because then I don't have to go through all the testing again, I know my 60-44-18z wick burns out to the edges just fine. The jars aren't real expensive if you don't buy the lid (from Fairway).

Those are very pretty. I am considering getting rid of the apothecary jars I use because of the shipping costs on them... that lid weighs a ton. I was thinking maybe I would use those plastic disks that I've seen on candles in stores... it has a little hole in the middle and fits inside the jar opening. Does anyone know where to get those?

I use 60-44-18z in my same apothecary jars and ONE wick works great with Greenleaf's 70/30 wax. I make sure that I state the first burning must be at least 3-4 hours long, and it melts clear out to the sides.

I've never doubled wicked these jars, only a single wick does it for me.
