  2. Those are REALLY cute!  :)  I would imagine you could paint your own with some sharpies and a stencil.  If your not inclined to do that, I could make a couple for you, if you'll pay for shipping, I'm game. You'd have to also specify the wording you want as well.

OT sorry but are these jars really $3.99 for a dozen???  http://www.fillmorecontainer.com/4-oz-Canning-Jars-Regular-Mouth-P99.aspx

  3. I also had this problem with a soy pillar last night.  I tried the fridge, no go, I did the hot water thing, nope, I even broke out the heat gun to no avail.  Candybee's  ;)  method is all that worked and I was pleasantly surprised that the candle finish wasn't marred or disfigured either.  I hope you got it out!

Well, I placed 2 orders at different times this past month and a half......For all the years I have been ordering from CS I could ALWAYS count on it to be delivered 2 days from day I placed the order.  This last order took 10 days b/4 I got it and and the order previously took 7 days......I don't understand.

    DING DING DING!
You summed it up much more eloquently than I was able to but that what I've been saying. And the response from CS that "noooo, guys! This is a GOOD thing! Now you have the CHOICE to order it from the other warehouse instead of it being listed as Out Of Stock" is so annoying and condescending.

As far as oils, I've been having AWESOME luck with Aztec's oils lately. Just as good as CS's and similar prices. And they'll stuff a couple pounds of oil in a USPS envelope for $6.

Oceangazer1 And why are they quoting me cheaper shipping from NV. I think they need to get some phone calls and we need answers.

I hope I'm doing this right and you all can see my reply.  I'm HOT now!  I've read EVERYONE's post in this thread and you all have valid points and raise valid questions!  Email or call customer service, and often.  Sometimes you have to be a dog with a bone to get a better place on the porch! LOL

@Oceangazer1  Your shipping was cheaper than I paid and I live in the same state as CS!!! I also noticed that shipping UPS overnight was the same price as ground and I knew that was HOKEY as Hello so I didn't check the faster shipping because I just knew if I did, they would contact me saying a mistake was made blah blah, gimme more of your $$!!!!

@amanda Thanks for the tip!  I'll be checking them out!

@Trappeur  They were too busy moving and/or opening new stores at the time.  They moved from a small town in NC the bigger area of Raleigh-Durham.  This extra shipping is paying their new expensive rent or possibly new location in NV or hello maybe both!

To everyone involved, it's a sad day to lose a good supplier due to S/H costs, but sometimes you have to put your foot down or yell the line from that old movie "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore!"  I'm afraid to venture out but I trust you guys and will check out these other folks mentioned.  Oh and btw, Walmart has those 4 oz jars, a case for $11.88 here. Look back behind the kitchen machinery like can openers, toasters, etc.

If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.

  5. @OldGlory RollTide, according to my math, 12% is 2 oz per lb.

LOL I LOVE that smiley face!  And thanks so much!  I'm mathmatically challenged!  One night I think I spent and hour trying to figure out how much my large pour pot weighted with 16 ounces of wax! :read:  I read something about taring out a scale here and my life changed forever! Just where is that adorable smiley? lol

  6. @8-Gran-Ones Have you tried the micas from nurtures?
They are wonderful. .she test them all before ever putting them in her site to sell.
I have not had any bleed that are listed as non..
also tkb has some great non bleeding micas..

I did not at the time.  It was my first experience with soap with a "Life of the Party" melt and pour soap kit. I also picked up a red soap color at ACMoore to make the pink dots with in a clear purple tinted M&P.  The kit came with a green and gold mica and they were GORGEOUS!  I have a stash I just got last week of 3 different shades of blue and a green.  I'm REALLY excited to try them!

I just went to TKB's site!  OMGoodness!!!!!!!  Thank You!  I love this forum!  I lurked for a year!  I'm so glad I joined!  Thanks again @8-Gran-Ones!!!

  7. Oh, that's me on the site.

    NOT!  LOL!

On Ecosoya's site they say "Many fragrances work in PB, especially those designed for soy wax in general.  Recommended maximum scent load is about 12%".

Is this two ounces per pound or has my lack of math skills reared it's ugly head? LOL

    Thanks!

  9. I have a E-Commerce business too! I ship items USPS Priority for starting rate of $5.95.  I brought this to their attention, and my username here is the same there, so I know if they read this, they will know it's me. Their response to me was basically OH WELL sorry, but it's that way.  Fed Ex recently opened a distribution point in Winston-Salem NC too.  I KNOW there are cheaper rates out there.  I was dissappointed.  I did expect more.

If you can't ship an item from the same place, tough.  You eat the costs.  It's not the customers' fault you don't have it in stock and/or it's being drop shipped from the heavens.  You take a little less profit on each item but you have a customer that's happy and will return.

Never once did I think of adding shipping to a customer's order because I had to drop ship it if I didn't have it in stock,

  10. I just made a small order and I am in NC 2 1/2 hours away from CS and Shipping was waaaayyy too much.  I ship USPS Prioriity online and it's not as expensive as them.  I wanted something very small, would have fit in a bubble mailer, less than 2 oz, that was shipping from NV for over $7!  I emailed them about this insane shipping amount and they said it is what it is.   I said REMOVE the item, *shudder*  that!

I'm going to have to save my pennies for a really LARGE order and just bite the bullet and make the drive to pick up anything else from them.  No money can be made with shipping being so high.  You all seem to like Peak very much so I feel confident that I'll be ordering next from them.  I'm concerned about the FO's being different though.  Oh well.

  11. Hi Dave and Candybee!  I've been busy trying to make those pillars and . . .  I wish I had great news but I have good and bad. I did make two pillars with Vanilla FO, same sizes as yours Dave.  They turned out well except the tallest broke about and inch off at the bottom.  Otherwise they looked perfect.  They both burned well until about hour 20, then the taller one, collasped.  I think maybe my wicking was crooked.  I tried again, this time with Sweet Pea and OMGrief!  The shorter broke in half and the taller broke in 3 pieces.  Do either of you add some secret ingredient to your PB wax?  I got this at CS, my foUrth order from them.

I heat my wax using a huge double boiler and a digital thermoter. I'm not a microwaver.

I REALLY appreciate your replies before and hope someone out there has a secret like adding Vybar or SOMETHING. Thanks beforehand to any ideas, suggestions, or things that have worked for everyone else!  I really think this wax is dry and brittle.  Does that even make sense?

  12. @The Write Stuff Thank you soooo much for responding!  I too have had lots of luck with the votives and different FO's and they do have a delious scent!  But, pillars? as you said I'm VERY I'm really frustrated!

Has anyone had sucess at making a pillar with the PB?  I'm beginning to doubt it but at the same time I REALLY want someone to prove me wrong!  :(

I love your tagline btw! :D

  13. I can't make a good pillar candle using Ecosoya PB.  I've tried and tried and experimented and experimented. They either crack after removed from mold or collaspe when burning.  I've had a few make it through without the cracks, only to collaspe into themselves.  Everything seems to be going well and then . . . blam, oops, oh my!

I've followed the Ecosoya directions as well of others' I've researched on the www,  I've tried 30 different wicks with no scents added and only a Very Vanilla Scent from CS.  No colors or additives added.  I've tried heating to 195 and pouring at 10 degree increments.  No success. Has anyone made a sucessful burning pillar using this wax ONLY?  I've even added container wax ES CB 135, ES CB Advanced, CB Excel, and finally the Golden Brands 464.  I respectfully ask for ANY advice! Thanks in advance to anyone of assistance!

  14. I had a plum colored couch with throw pillows with all those colors and absolutely LOVED it so I LOVE your color combo!  I've just searched the site for Impressionistic work and yours was the first! They look like beautiful orchids too me. :)   I'm looking for a method that would help me make this in a soy container candle. How did you achieve this? if you don't mind my asking . . .
