  1. I purchased some candle/cosmetic grade soy wax originally for candle making. Well I have 25 pounds of it and want to explore new uses. I'm wondering has anyone used it

(soy candle/cosmetic grade wax) in lip balms, body scrubs, or massage candles, etc. If so how did it work out? Do you have any recipes you could recommend or link me to? Thanks tons!

  2. So I bought a large order of Wellington wax flakes and slab wax. They advertise the flake wax as tart/melt wax. However I find it is a bit to soft. Has anyone used this suppliers wax before? I'm just not super happy with my order and the rep told me there's no refunds and she has no exact blend information. (should have asked before ordering) also I find the slab wax is super soft. Reminds me of lip balm / chap stick consistency. Anyway if you have any info on there wax or tricks and tips on what to use it for Id love to hear ;)

  3. I kinda had an idea to use both these suggestions but wanted to see if any veteran chandlers knew of any other ways. I've looked into the bread stick pans and the water bottle ice trays as well. I took a trip to Wally yesterday in search of one either or but they had neither. (that was a tongue twister lol) They said they have the ice trays closer to the warmer months. Same with Dollar Tree. So unless I order one online soon I'll have to get them in the spring. On the bright side if I wait till spring I'll have all summer to prefect them for the 2013 candle season.

  4. I had something similar to this happen to me. I bought a 50pc lot of cameos for jewelry making off eBay from China. I used them as elements in my jewelry that I listed on Etsy. I get an email from a woman saying that these are her trade marked image I checked and she had no picture and had only owned the rights for about a month when I had proof I bought the cameos 7 months prior to her email. Etsy still removed my listings and gave me a warning.

Back to the subject at hand I am still in the testing phase but once selling time is near I'm thinking of calling them soy scent bombs.

  5. I found myself in my local Wally World this holiday season and I noticed they had mounds of wax clam shells for $1.98. I am still new to candle/tart making roughly 3 months. I am not sure how long they have carried them. I guess I never paid attention until I started making them. My question is as sellers how do you combat that price? How do you encourage that your product is better thus costs more? What are your key notes to the average Joe at a craft show/online store? Lastly how if at all has this affected your business.
