  1. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post..

But I was wondering what kind of info the ask for when I call them about getting sample jars?

    Jeanna

When I called then to speak with Paula, I wasn't able to get ahold of her so they took address and what jars I wanted as a sample and they sent them to me.

  2. Hi,

I am finally getting close to where I would like to try making votives. I figure by January or soon thereafter I can start. I have been testing and trying to master container candles since last September and I am ready to move on to trying something new. I mean things can always be better with the containers, but at least I have a decent container candle to offer. I would sure hope so after all that time, money and testing I did. santa roll santa wink

I would like to start off with the easiest of the votive soy wax. Which one is your favorite? I am sure that some are pickier than others. Do most of you here that use soy use soy for your votives too? Most likely you would, but I do also offer some paraffin blend candles so it would not be out of place to offer a paraffin votive. I don't think anyway. I would like one that gives a strong throw. If the soy votive wax gives as good of a scent throw as my Calsoy CB-3 than I would prefer to stick with soy. Look forward to your thoughts. Thanks!

    Hi Holly,

I use Calwax CB 10 which is a parrafin/soy blend. I love it and it has a great cold/hot throw.

  3. I am super critical of things like this because of my background in communications and printing industries, so my opinion may not be the same as everyone else's.

I think I understand the concept you're going for, but I think it's not hitting the mark because of the choice of words--more particularly, the word "flutter." Unfortunately, I don't have any fantastic options for you.

When I associate the word flutter with candles, I think of flickering or sputtering flames, and a scent that is weak, or uneven throughout the candle.

I tried to come up with any connection to butterfly and found this site of butterfly quotes and poetry, and thought perhaps it would help you or someone else come up with something appropriate.

After reading some of the poems, I thought of the word "flow" instead of flutter.

I am sure glad I posted this to the board for review....:)

Sock, I really like those two options you threw out there. They really fit the elegance that we want to convey to our customers.

  4. I am thinking about adding tarts to my candle line, but I would like to be able to offer a tart warmer/burner for my customers to have when they buy them. Does anyone know where I can get some at a great wholesale price? I am thinking of going with the tealight kind instead of the electric.

    Thanks!

We are getting ours from http://www.jackelus.com/index.html

In my opinion, they have a much nicer selection and definately cheaper than Levine

  5. Congrats on your show. Display looks nice. Is the floor shelf unit from Big Lots? Saw something similar there and was wondering how it would work. Like the way you have grouped your products.

Actually it's a folding bookshelf that we had bought from Target.

  6. This was our 3rd year (my second) of doing this show at one of our local High Schools. Our First year we did ok, probably about 3 times our booth fee. And this year was about the same as last, 6.8 times our booth fee. It started out rather slow and we were getting a bit worried, but then we were flooded for a bit, so it all worked out in the wash. We did get invited to a two day show next weekend, but I think we are going to pass it up as I wont have enough time to replenish what was sold yesterday as well as get ready for a show the weekend after Thanksgiving. It's funny how things change from year to year as to what will sell and what won't. I sold alot more pillars then I did the previous 2 years. Had one lady buy 10 so I gave her a price break on her purchase. Here are some pictures of our setup.

Would love to hear any suggestions on how to make it better or comments in General. I am hoping that we will have Container Candles in our product line soon.
