Purple Lilac
Yup, Rebecca IA was very helpful - I needed an answer Really quick and she was there for me - THANKS AGAIN:) .I added appx 1 TBS of mica and was unsure if I added way toooooooo much. She said any where from 1/2 tsp to 1 TBS is fine - depending on the color. One interesting note - she suggested that soaps colored with mica should not be used for facial soaps for ones who wear contact lens as it could be a possible irritant . - Never thought of that.Do you use mica's Glo? gloworm
I have them. Wasn't sure how to incorporate in the soap & did it wrong once(added dry to the traced soap) hadn't got up my nerve to try again yet. Didn't ruin the batch just didnt color it good. Small lumps of color.Glo
Purple Lilac
I mixed mine with a little olive oil but Rebecca mentioned it could be mixed with glycerin
Kimberly
I use micas to color 90% of my soaps and like them much better than oxides or ultramarines. For a 2lb batch of soap I use about 1/2 tsp. I take out a couple of tsp of my soaping oils to mix my mica.
friendlyMOM
on this subject of micas, how would i add it to my MP? I just got my order of clear MP and some micas and not really sure how too incorporate it, someone said to add it to the FO somewhere (I think) thanks
Scent Cellar
It's been so long ago that I did M&P but I think I disbursed the mica into a tiny bit of water & put them in the M&P as it was cooling down & stirred & stirred.
