bugsb1 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 On bitter creek's home page tehy offer the wick your wax FO's pretty expensive but they say you only need 1/4 oz or tbetween 1-3% to the lb to make strong scented candles. Has anyone used these and if so what is everyones opinion?? Quote
AngelaVA Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I use WYW Fos and you really don't need but about 1/2 oz pp with them. I use J50 and 1/2 oz and get a great throw. They are more expensive, but the cost evens out because you use less. I buy the 4 or 8 ounce size. I like their Vanilla Grapefruit, Fresh Linen, Lavender and Sweet Basil, Bamboo, Snowberry and Sage & Citrus. Quote
Anna Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I have been temped to order from them, was wondering if they are any better than the same scent from another supplier. Anna Quote
AngelaVA Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I would definitely order the sample pack and try them out. I was skeptical too, but am now a believer. They have some really interesting FOs, like bamboo, madagascar spice, lavender and sweet basil, white plum chutney, etc. I haven't tried one yet that doesn't throw well for me in parrafin. Quote
Breanna Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I am hooked on Peaks FO,,they are good and strong,,some I use 1/2 oz ppw and some I use 1oz ppw,,,Now I look in the classifieds here on this Board and so far I have gotten some really GOOD FOs,,,I have some from Tristate (Lavendar) smells Great,,,You can get big bottles for a small price,,,,try that too,,,HTH:D sorry didnt see Bittercreek,,They have nice strong scents also,, Quote
daniedb Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Yes, you can absolutely go by the manufacturer's guidelines on WYW's FOs. I love them, and use them as often as possible, I think they are amazing quality and have unbelieveable throw. The top shelf FOs only call for 1-3%, which is almost nothing, so the price equals the ones that you use 1 oz pp. Quote
gerrie Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I agree, the WYW oils are very strong. And they are very complex, a lot of interesting notes in all her oils. This is one of those "you get what you pay for" oils. Quote
Gypsyjen Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I just ordered samples of both their regular and top shelf fragrances which should arrive tomorrow (excited!!). I'm just having a hard time getting over the fact that their name sounds like the title of a dirty movie Quote
LauraAndrews Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Have any of you used WYW in soy? Then how much does it take to get a great throw?Laura Quote
The_Dallas_Texas_Dean Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 I have used several of their oils and honestly find them to be the best quality of any I have found anywhere. I have not used them in 100% Soy, but have used them with success in 50/50. Quote
MuskokaMom Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 I have her buttercream crunch, Wild Mountain Berry, Biscotti, MangoMacadamian Nut and White Plum Chutney. And I love them all. It was an initial investment, but well worth it. Quote
