mindy5140 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Can you use Natures gardens 100% soy wax for tarts???Mindy Quote
LynnS Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I use a soy votive/pillar blend.I did make some with leftover soy wax and they broke easy. For the soy pillar blend I drop the tarts and they are fine. Some soy waxes are just to soft.LynnS Quote
maryann Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Yes you can, you can also add beeswax to harden the soy a bit. I stopped using the soy because I didn't like the looks- frosting of the soy. Plus if I added a second color it would bleed into each other, so I now use a veggie based pillar/votive blend. HTH Quote
Breanna Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I was always told 25% container wax to 75% pillar wax,,HTH Quote
mindy5140 Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 I tried but didn't suceed, they cracked when I tried to get them out of the mold. Thanks for sharing what you use.Mindy Quote
maryann Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I use candy molds when doing some of my tarts and I put them in the freezer for awhile and they pop right out. I was doing some intricate shapes the other day and they kept breaking so after 3 times of remelting the wax on my tart warmer (they're for my own use- left over wax I was practicing w/) I put it in the freezer and they popped right out and none broke. LynnS Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 To get my tarts out of the mold easy I lightly spray the molds with PAM.Works great and they just fall out.No problems at all.LynnS Quote
Fern-Marie Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I put mine in the freezer...they fall out of the tray, so be careful. Quote
