Stupid Question

Why can't a mottling pillar wax be used in say.... an apothecary jar?

Will it break? Will it tunnel?

How come?

Who's to say it can't? Have you tried?? The biggest thing is that many pillar waxes aren't meant to hold as much FO as a container wax, so the throw may not be as good as a specifically designed container wax. But with the use of certain additive, you may achieve those results.

I'd say try it and see...

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking.... Hmm?

Has anyone tried this?

Mottling wax is straight paraffin and you can do whatever you want with it. If you'd like to make a mottled container though, you can get a lower MP paraffin to make it easier to wick. Either that or don't use too wide a container.
