ksranch
Does anyone have a 'recipe' for making a "gold" color? not like metallic or whatever.. just a nice rich gold.. I had some dye chips that were gold, but I only have 2 left and I'm not finding them on line anymore...
Stella1952
Dunno if you checked these sites, but among them they have a lot of gold colors or ones that could be combined to make gold...http://www.peakcandle.com/category/Candle-Dyes/Dye-Chips.aspx?page=1http://www.candlescience.com/color/reddigglo-dye-chips.phphttp://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/candledyes/dyeblocks.htmlhttp://www.thecandlemakersstore.com/product/DYEBLOCKA/Candle-Colors-Dye-Block-1-Single-12-oz-color-block.htmlI personally like to mix my own with the EVO liquid dyes from CandleWichttp://www.candlewic.com/store/category.aspx?q=c73&title=Liquid%20Colors%20Pigment%20and%20Dyesor Southwest...http://store.southwestcandlesupply.com/candles/dyes.html
ksranch
Yea, I saw the chips like butterscotch - I just figured if I'm going to have to mix maybe I could use the liquids I have.. but I've tried twice and keep coming up with mud. lol Thought someone might have a foolproof mix of 1 drop yellow plus ... no worries! thanks! Alajane
I'm watching this thread 'cause I'd love to have a recipe for gold color, too. Like you, I've tried but never quite achieved it--and I do love liquid dyes!

Sharon in KY
I use to use gold... Now I use Honey from RE/AH with Yellow from them. 1 drop honey 2 drops yellow in 2 lbs wax. It's the closest I could come up with.

coconut
I sure don't see it...It's called Golden Honey/Vanilla. ksranch
Okay, thanks - I saw that, but it doesn't look gold to me... perhaps it's just the pic - I'll try some or Honey from AH/RE = Thanks again!

So if you go with a medium shade it's gold, and a dark shade gives you orange. It looked gold to me. http://www.lonestarcandlesupply.com/products/candledyes_orangegold-liquid-dye.html Edited December 6, 2011 by HorsescentS
