Darbla
Alright, you mixing maestros: have any of you tried to create a 'Figgy Pudding' scent from 'Brown Sugar & Fig'? What would you try mixing with it? Edited November 7, 2011 by Darbla
Scented
The trash lol!! OK what about putting some vanilla bean noel with it? Or maybe an almond pastry or a frosted sugar cookie? and maybe some cinnamon. Edited November 7, 2011 by Scented
Darbla
I can not believe you do not like 'BS&F'!!! It's one of my favorites! Send me your rejects. LOLHadn't thought about 'VBN'. Thanks!
Scented
I can't do that. I threw that stuff out long ago and refuse to get it again, but ... you know I might now thinking how vanillas and cinnamon might make it so much better lol! Darbla
What do you think of some type of sugar plum mixed with it? I'm thinking that might take it to mincemeat territory, which I loooooove during the holidays in pies and cookies.
samandkennasmom
I love brown sugar & fig, your mixing ideas sound so good! Please post back if you try any of them, I'd love to hear your results!
Scented
Well I was going to suggest a plum, but thought that might not make it a figgy pudding. I don't think sugar plum (peak kind) would be a good mix. Do you just have a straight plum? Better might be a straight raisin or a raisin cream pie type of thing lol. Either way glad it's you doing the combining! (just not a mincemeat nor a BS&F fan in the slightest.) I would say patch makes everything good, but this I'm thinking would be a waste of patch Edited November 7, 2011 by Scented
mzpickles
How about mixing it with a creme brulee? I don't remember who posted it but someone here once said they could sell anything mixed with creme brulee!

Candybee
Well I'm stumped. With all the mixing concoctions I try I never tried a figgy pudding. Some recipes call for dates and or figs mixed with bread like a bread type pudding. I think a little spice thrown in would help too. Sorry I'm not much help on this one. Darbla
Well, I took some spiced plum from somewhere or other, mixed 50/50 with 'BS&F', and I think the perfuminess of 'BS&F' is just enough to keep this from being as foody as I would've liked it. I didn't think it was all THAT perfumey, but when trying to make it into a gourmand that really stands out. But you know how sometimes a finished product will settle out into something different than earlier stages, so will experiment further. Darbla
I am modifying my last mention of this: it sat for a couple of weeks and I guess cured and it is much better now! No overt perfuminess, and smells a lot like mincemeat pies and cookies!
