jackie
Can you just add titanium dioxide directly to wax or does it require any special handling? I have some of the "white" pigment from candlechem and it does fine but I was thinking the straght titanium dioxide would be more economical in the long run (I imagine that's what's in the pigment I have). IwantItgreen
I've only used TD in CP soap. I'm pretty sure it will clog your wick, if you put it in wax. Can't say I've tried it tho, but did read that somewhere on this forum.
Stella1952
TD or white dye is a wick clogger.
jeanie353
TD or white dye is a wick clogger. There is a whitener out there that is said not to clog wicks. Now if I can only remember which supplier carries it, I will come back and post. For some reason The Candlemakers Store comes to mind. jackie
I'm doing cut and curl so I'm using pigments for dipping wax anyway. I'm not concerned about wick clogging--just the easiest/cheapest way to whiten wax. Edited October 29, 2011 by jackie
Candybee
I tried it once. I did get what I thought were some very beautiful white candles. Didn't burn worth a damn but they were a very pretty white!
Ajf
I'm curious about titanium oxide as well I have a bag but only made 1 test candle. I mixed it with the soy wax. So far it burns clean and seems to hold a pastel color but has a shine to it. Almost looks plastic.
