emahleem
Hello! I am new to candle making and have a quick question about cleaning the double boiler after making a candle. I have read that all you need to do is heat the left over wax again and just wipe it with a paper towel, but does that also remove the dye and fragrance oils? I wouldn't want my next candle to come out smelling slightly off or having a color that's not quite right. Thanks!
Stella1952
The small amount of leftover will not affect the fragrance of a new batch. Warm and wipe out completely with paper towels, then wash in hot dishwashing detergent. Should come out fine.

Scented
Unscented baby wipes. Why bother with all that scrubbing and any potential wax film going down the drain? The baby wipes also take any stubborn color out too.
CandyinVA
I too have been using baby wipes for years! Works like a champ.
scifichik
I got that unscented baby wipe hint from here a long time back---one of the best pieces of info I ever picked up!

TammyGCC
I have just heated it up and wiped out with a paper towel for years never had a issue. I use 1 or 2 pounds of wax at a time. You do learn a lot of things on this forum.
