"UPDATE" on Fragrance Comany in Georgie

After reading 27 pages from the last thread on this company, curiosity got the best of me and of course I HAD to check them out. After spending quite some time on the website, I was a little confused as to what FO was for what applications and some of the explanations seemed a little puzzling, maybe it was just me but I took the liberty to email this gentleman and I will share this info with all my soap and candle friends in the event anyone is wondering like I did. Below is a description of the FO's off the website:

**Fine Fragrance (Types):

Only Fragrance "Perfumed Body Oils" - We create perfumes through reverse engineering using analytical techniques that can reveal the "general" formula for any particular perfume. These fragrances are amazing recreations of the orginal that can be used in perfumes, body lotions, shampoos, hair jels and various other personal care products. Note: Not to be used in candles.

**Fragrant Body Oils:

Only Fragrance Body Oils are a mix of various chemical components, some natural and some synthetic. Unlike our fine fragrance (Types*) These body oils are scented more like popular fruits, botanicals, and spices. They are skin safe products carefully formulated to exact specifications so that they can be used every day.

**Candle Oils:

Complete list of the very best fragrance oils for soap and candles. All of our oils are manufactured and tested to perform in the at the highest level.

**Soap Safe Oils:

Perfectly Formulated for Soaps

Below is the correspondence between the owner and I:

Good afternoon,

Would you please explain the difference between your Fine Fragrance Types and the Fragrance Body Oils? Are the fragrance types full strength to use in Soaps, Lotions, etc. and the Body Oils diluted to use directly on the skin?

The FO's that are marked for Soap, have they been tested in CP and are they all CP friendly or are they just skin safe? Why is it that some FO's cannot be used in candles? Please advise,

Response:

Hi Toni !

Actually Both the fine fragrance types and the body oils are perfectly safe to be used on the skin at 100 %. The only reason we gave them their own category so was no real place to put the (non fragrance duplication) body oils. I personally use several of the Fine Fragrance types myself out of a small roll on bottle applied directly. Many of our clients mix the oil with a alcohol cologne or perfume bases and sell them as the perfume.

The reason the fragrance types and the body oils can’t be used in candles is that they contain a solvent called DPG which will not blend with waxes.

If you have any additional questions please let us know. Thank you for your time!

***Info I found off another forum: Dipropylene glycol, fragrance grade is commonly used as a carrier for fragrances, and as an ingredient in cosmetic formulations, including hair care and bath products, perfumes, facial makeup, deodorants, shaving and skin care preparations.

Hi Luis,

I'm still confused about your FO's. If the Fine Fragrance Types can be applied directly to the skin at 100% then I'm assuming they are diluted, correct? If so, at what percent?

Thank You,

Toni

Response:

No, that is not correct “dilution” is defined as weakened by lowering the concentration of the fragrances. The fragrance oils are never diluted they are “formulated” or created to be very strong and 100% safe in both, bath and body products or put directly on the skin. When applied to the skin directly it takes a very little amount to wear all day.

I hope this helps

Good Morning Luis,

Now that I've slept on this info, I want to make sure I have it clear before I proceed w/ samples I'll be receiving!

FINE FRAGRANCE TYPES - Has DPG formulated in it so these oils cannot be used in wax, correct?

FRAGRANCT BODY OILS - Strictly body oils and no other applications. Contains DPG, correct?

CANDLE OILS - Candles & various other applications, contains no DPG, correct?

SOAP SAFE OILS - Soaps and other B&B applications. If it's marked for candle use then it does not contain DPG, correct?

The reason I'm concerned about the DPG in the oils is because DPG will definitely seize the CP, big time!! Don't need soap on a stick. I hope I've got this down right now?? :)

Once again, Thank You!

Response:

Yes exactly and all CP oils will be marked as soap safe. If you have any problems with them please let me know asap. Have a great day!!

I'm hoping this will clarify any concerns for anyone who wants to try the oils!! I'm waiting for my samples to arrive :smiley2:
