moon01945
hi... it seems like Jojoba is just really expensive. Is it just me??This was the best price I could find:Jojoba, Golden Pure and Natural($15.00 per pound)
Scented
It is really expensive right now. I would think if you found it at $15 a pound that would be a good price as long as it is unadulterated.
moon01945
Columbus foods has it listed. I use them (like many others) for my bulk oils. They have been out for a long time.
Scented
Yeah I use them too, but their $105 price was quite a jump for me. I just got my pounds from BCN, which had decent prices when I ordered.
TallTayl
jojobacompany.com is still at $70 per gallon. I bought some. It's nice.
lauramw71
I think both WSP and MMS said when their supply is gone, it's gone.
moon01945
70 so far is the best price.. .if you can even find it. I am on the fence about getting any still.
TallTayl
December isn't far off (the typical time when my distributors get their stock for the year). The best pre-buy numbers I'm seeing in wholesale drum prices are $17-19 per lb (before freight). IMO, if you like Jojoba and plan to try to keep it in your formulations, buy whenever you can. The shelf life is very, very long.
HappyHausfrau
wow! it's doubled in the last 6 months! what happened?!
Scented
I heard the crops took a bad hit. Now from what I'm not sure, but I believe it was weather related.
Stella1952
Apparently worldwide demand is up, too... Then again, I've read there is no real shortage or crop issue - only a perceived one which causes companies to buy up the available stock, making it appear that there isn't enough to go around... like a run on gas causing a temporary shortage... Who knows what the real deal is, but our reality is higher prices...
HappyHausfrau
Makes me happy I have a gallon and don't use it much!
Noodle
I use a lot of jojoba and this price hike really stinks for me. I do have a lot of it on hand, so hopefully I can ride this out. If not I will have to find an alternate oil- something that I hate to think about.
Stella1952
I use a lot of jojoba and this price hike really stinks for me.I would LOVE to try jojoba, but the price makes that unlikely... I'm new to this B&B stuff and the present cost of jojoba makes it impractical for me to even test...
Noodle
I use jojoba in practically all of my body products. It is so wonderful. I have fidgeted over the years with alternative oils, but never seriously. Now, I will probably have to look for an alternative down the road. I have no idea what resembles jojoba oil at all. I got hooked on it and did not really search for replacements.
Stella1952
From what I have read, it is rather unique in its properties. It'll be a tough act to replace...

It is the perfect oil for me and I never looked for a substitute.
