kyme1911
What's the gel material in them that holds the scent. It is very tacky like glue, I was just wondering if anyone knew what it is...
bmuse
I was wondering that too! I know it's not the sachet beads (like we use to make ornies). I tried that, it only lasted for 2 weeks, not the month they claim theirs do. Wonder what else I can experiment with, lol.

001
From what I have seen it is the same kind of gel that Yankee uses for their air fresheners. I don't know what it is made of exactly but I assume that it is like a high density gel wax.
kyme1911
It is sticky or tacky is all I know...I never said that it came off on my finger...IMO after sitting on the dash board of my sisters SUV ( 100+ temp) it felt tacky, it reminded me of Science class and what the material in a Petri dish felt like. Soleil
I have one that was given to me as a gift and I've had it open for about 2 weeks, the smell is nearly completely gone unless I cram my face down into it. I haven't the slightest what it is made of though. At room temperature it is just.. bouncy like jello. It's not greasy or anything when you touch it.... CandleChic
I'm thinking it's candle gel you make the gel candles with. Dunno though. I asked someone who makes them and they said they weren't at liberty to tell me.I may try that..the candle gel..never used it before,so dunno yet..lol.Can't be that hard to figure out, they make everything for everything..lol

Soleil
Thought I'd share this.. I got a travel tin as a gift (I think I mentioned it on the last page) and this is after having it open for about 1 week - 1 1/2 weeks. It is completely detached from the tin, no scent at all, and it is pliable so I'd say it is gel. The scent itself didn't last more than 3-4 days overall and that was with it open just a little bit. pcbrook
Thanks for sharing. I was looking into making these also and I think I remember seeing on their website that they charged $5 for them. If they only last a couple weeks that's not too good for that price.
Sharon in KY
I don't think it's candle gel, that stuff never dissipates. $5.00? the tin would cost us that much. Looks more like what Renuzit use to use.
Soleil
I think it's something similar to that Sharon. When I first got it, it was.... thick and squishy. Now it's super thin and dry so I think it is something similar to those air freshener cones. The scent was Black Raspberry Vanilla if anyone is curious.
