Guest PassionSunKiss
I've made several batches of body butters a few months ago and just recently a friend of mine told me that her jar had hardly any fragrance. She told me she had a few of her friends smell the jar as well and they could hardly smell anything. So being a little skeptical, I went ahead and opened a jar of the same fragrance from the same batch and she was right, the scent is almost gone!So my question is, do I need to make the scent stronger or just get the fragrance from a different manufacturer? The scent is the Pure Seduction dupe from WSP.
8-GRAN-ONES
it could be just the fo...most times in my lotions, my scent will get stronger as it sets..I always test my lotions with scent added in a malabu bottle, and keep for a while, to see how the scent reacts.there have been a few, i did not like at all once it set for a while..some will even make the lotion thin out..It is just a test and try...and keep good notes.. Candybee
I had one FO that smelled "dusty" in my lotion after it set for a while. The same FO smells wonderful in soap. Just not in lotion.
Guest PassionSunKiss
Could the problem be that I'm only using 3% fo? On NG's website their average max for lotions is 3-5%, so that's what I go off of for every scent (because the majority of my scents are from NG). But I just noticed that on NG's website it specifically says their fo's are 100% concentrated, whereas WSP's site doesn't say that and charges an arm and a leg. What do you think? Lorelei
Some FO's you just need to use more. I'm not sure what base you are using but if it is the soy body butter I have used a minimum of 4 in that one. I have one perfume dupe that I've ordered from WSP and it was fine. It could just be that FO is lighter than you expect. This is why I always always test for sure before I put any product out. You will want to know about product scent fading because a potential customer won't necessarily tell you about that, they will just stop buying from you. Scented
I go up in % and then if that doesn't work, I go find one that will work for me.
