Oceangazer1
Hi Everyone...I made more CP soap yesterday. This is scented Amazing Grace from NG. It's a lighter scent, but it smells so very pretty.I tried to peak and swirl some gold mica. My soaps seem to be rustic looking in the center yet...I let it come to trace, separated some batter for the mica. Poured the pot batter into my show box, then added the length in the center with the gold mica batter and started swirling and tried to get it to peak in the center. When finished playing...lol...I covered in plastic wrap, but the lid on...covered in towels and a blanket and put it to bed. NOOOO peeking at all. Cut it today...My questions are...To get or not to gel, please explain why you let some soaps gel and try to avoid it with others. What are the different outcomes? Even though I didn't peek I still have a few white spots in the center. I made sure to add my lye water to my oils at around 100* for both. All I know is that so many of you make this LOOK So easy!! Oceangazer1
Oh and one other question...where can I find the pop colors, or very bright colorants so I can practice with real swirling. lol
Barbara AL
Looks like a little ash on top of the soaps I usually spray my tops with 91% alcohol before putting it to bed. TKB no longer carries the Pop Micas they have some Neon Oxides that are bright, also The Conservatorie carries some micas called The Happy Hour Collection that looks like the Pop Micas. Am I on the right path? Maybe the trace wasn't thick enough or too thick? Maybe someday I might know what I'm doing with soaps. hehe

Oceangazer1
Your soap looks very good.Thank you so much! I sprayed it with alcohol and it helped with the ash a lot! So they are looking much better.
Scented
I want to know if that FO survives cure!! I like the colors. Looks like ash is coming on, but it's always cleanable too. Are you trying out different recipes or just staying with the one you use? While TKB doesn't have the pop colors any more, you know you saw some colors you're gonna want lol! I gel because I can't stand to wait for it to harden. If it's a milk though, I don't gel those. Hard to explain why I do what I do. I listened to so many people who don't soap any more that I guess I just do what they told me to do.
