Question about temps.

I have a question about the eco soya wax. At what point do you guys take wax off of burner and then at what temp. do you pour? I was wondering because I am taking off the burner at 175 and pour about 120.

There are 3 kinds of Ecosoya wax so you should mention which one you're using.

Heating to 175-180 to add FO and pouring around 150 works pretty well. They generally like to cool slowly, so if you pour into a small or very narrow container you can pour up to 160.

Thanks top I was putting the fo in at 120 to 125. The outside of the box says 135.

That was what the person I am doing candles with said to do. I have never done candles but she had, so I thought she knew what she was doing.

Everyone has their way of doing things. The concensus seems to be that the FOs bind better with the wax when added at higher temperatures. That makes sense. If you've ever tested FOs for gel, it's suprising how insoluble they can be. It's the heat at melting temperatures that helps them mix.

What you have is CB-135. It works pretty well. There's a range of temps you can pour it at, but 150 works for a wide range of containers. I usually get a perfect top at that pour temp.
