mindy5140
I posted a few topics in other sections about a candle bingo that I'm going to make candles for.The head of the womens auxilery called me to tell me she went to a store that was going out of business and bought alot of Lenox glass stuff and she was offering it to all of us that are making candles, so we could have fancier candles, I prefer only to use the containers that I have tested but the other candle makers are going to use them, basically what I'm asking is, is it safe to use Lenox glass, I thought that was thin glass or am I wrong???????Mindy
mystical_angel1219
I have a friend that works at Mikasa so I can get some gorgeous cut crystal containers for nearly nothing They make gorgeous candles. But I would highly recommend you only use the thicker crystal. The cut kind, not the blown. The blown crystal is too thin IMO to withstand the heat of a wick. mindy5140
How would you know the difference, I haven't seen the glasses yet, but she is really pushing all of us to use these. Thanks,Mindy
mystical_angel1219
Cut crystal should have some sort of pattern to the texture of the glass.Blown crystal is usually in the form of wine glasses or artistic shapes. It is smooth on the surface and usually much thinner.
