Judy, USMC
Hey Abby! Got my registration in and looking forward to seeing everyone again this summer ... it was so much fun last year and sooo informative. I never imagined getting such a variety of info cramed into a single day event. Glad to see the informal "the-night-before Meet & Greet" is on the schedule again for those of us arriving Friday afternoon; I already have my Yankee Swap item. Steve still will be bringing his lucky tote for a trip to the casino. We are going to turn the trip into a mini-vacation again and mix business with pleasure. Abbiepql
That's right, maybe this year I will make it over to the casino. I said I would go if they got tables and they did. Last year they were so crowded. I look forward to seeing everyone again, we are still working on the schedule but so far it looks like some awesome stuff. It's worth the trip just to see everyone again and check out everyone's goodies.
tlc26
I am seriously considering. I promise. For anyone that may be on the fence, I have been to this conference 2 years in a row. It is one of the, if not the best I've ever been to and I have been to quite a few in my day in several different states. Great goodies bags, wonderful door prizes, good supplier representation, great hosts, a wonderful group of participants, great presentations (informative, knowledgable speakers) great location near a casino and the outlet malls,
mindy5140
I'll be there this year, already payed. Wont be at the meet and greet on Friday though. charmcandleco
I want to come. I looked it up and its only about 10 hours from where I live. Which is not to bad. Plus the 23rd is my birthday. So may be I can talk hubby into it.
mindy5140
What's the yankee swap, I'm guessing yankee candles but what else?
Judy, USMC
What's the yankee swap, I'm guessing yankee candles but what else? This is how the swap is done... but we don't swap White Elephants (unwanted items) we swap handcrafted goodies that have a certain dollar value. That amount will be determined and on the site before the Gathering.http://www.ehow.com/how_2117714_throw-white-elephant-gift-exchange.html

Judy, USMC
SYR - Hope to head to Chicago in June and then come to the Gathering from that direction. I can stop by CS on my way up but think that I can only pick up FOs. Wax in a hot car for 6 weeks in June & July don't want to chance it. KWIM? If plans change I'll post.I'll probably be in for a BW pickup. Edited March 13, 2011 by Judy, USMC
singleyellowrose
FOs work too!! Keep me posted. If things change, I will have you get me at least 1 case of wax. (Putting in for my "space" in your trunk now!!!)
Judy, USMC
(Putting in for my "space" in your trunk now!!!)Bought a van so that isn't a problem any more ... just the route to the Gathering doesn't work this time.
asheebeans
I'm sitting on the fence about this one but want to go. This one will work better for me financially, as I don't have the money for Ohio Soaper's right now. I'm thinking about coming out Friday and leaving Saturday night. I looked it up and the hotel is only about 3 hours from me--same as Ohio Soaper's would have been this year!
jennyjo
I consider going every year, but haven't made it yet. Somebody please talk me in to it! Candybee - we moved the gathering date this year, so no conflict right? LOLEarly registration ends tonight at midnight! It's a savings of $10. NancyT
Yes Judy we definately will be having the yankee swap on Friday night as usual, but we are going to be calling it something different. Just a little twist from our usual. I will post more about that as well as other events taking place on Friday evening, just as soon as I get a couple more things finalized. Got your curiosity up yet????? I hope so. Keep watching the blog for more information.Anybody that is sitting on the fence, you really need to make up your mind BEFORE we fill up. I've been to several conventions and this by far is one of the best. As Tabatha said, the good bags alone are worth the cost of the registration and the door prizes are the best than anywhere else I have been. BTW, everyone in attendance gets a door prize and not just a few and all the prizes are very close in value so no one walks away with a cheap looking door prize. Abbie & I have been talking about the various demo's, speakers & vendors and it's going to be great!!!!!! You really don't want to miss out just because you waited too long to register. Hope you decide to come!!!
singleyellowrose
Okay... jennyjo... did you register yet? Get off your A$$ and git er done!!!Abbie,I apparently am slightly blind to the Current News link you sent to me and it won't let me "log in":angry2:I have been working WAY too many hours lately! Abbiepql
SYR - I wrote you back and if you still can't read the blog - I will re-register for you. So we have pre-buys from Nature's Garden and Candle Science so far. I have not heard from Backwoods? I think Nancy is working on something from an Amish store, but hopefully she will let us know what products that means exactly? I know on the schedule for Friday night besides the Yankee swap is a couple short & sweet demos on herbal beads, scented dusting powder, scrubby conditioner bars and... something else that escapes me right now.Saturday's schedule is still being worked out but tentative topics include: Distilling herbs (with a still demo), Shower & Bath Gellez, Wax Bowls, and Crafter's Liability Insurance. There are a couple more in the works, I will post when scheduled is firm.
singleyellowrose
Found it...:rolleyes2 PMed you back.FYIs:I need citric acidJojoba OilIncroquat CR--or I will after my demo!and maybe a few other items... NancyT
SYR, am I correct in assuming the GMP is Goat's Milk M&P, and the CMP is Cold Process M&P? Just needed to clarify.
Abbiepql
I think they are milk powders...coconut & goatsmilk! I need some for sure, too hard to find coconut milk for me.
singleyellowrose
Abbie is correct.
