SliverOfWax
When I used 16 oz tins, I triple wicked with HTP 52s.Not the answer you want.
bramoncada
Yea i think people have been saying double wick with eco 10... but id really prefer if there was some way to single wick these bad boys theres gotta be a way right? nursenancy
If I were to try single wicking those, I would try an eco 16. Not many suppliers carry them, but CS does.It may not do it, though. Tins are tricky.
LynnS
These are wide but think I will try 2 medium wicks. If that don't work then 2 large wicks. I've had the 16 ounce tins for sometime but no one buys them on-line.And forget craft shows it is only the 8 ounce JJ.LynnS
bramoncada
Any other suggestions for single wicking?
moonshine
I tried to single wick with a CD 22 on that tin with the 464 and it looked like a yankee jar- wax all over on the sides.... not sure single wick is the answer on that tin, I have not revisited it yet either but when I do I am thinking 2 or 3 for that baby!Good Luck
soy327
If I were to try single wicking those, I would try an eco 16. Not many suppliers carry them, but CS does.It may not do it, though. Tins are tricky.I remember a post about wicking the apothocary jar, you suggested the Eco 16 and the LX 30. I tried the LX 30 and was pleased with it, thank you. Problem was Pumpkin Souffle :laugh2:I can't get HT from this FO in soy or palm wax. I think they are the same diameter or close. Hope that helps. bramoncada
Im assuming the LX 30 is bigger??? I suppose the only real issue we have to worry about is tunneling.. so im guessing im looking for the biggest wick i can find?
deb426
Im assuming the LX 30 is bigger??? I suppose the only real issue we have to worry about is tunneling.. so im guessing im looking for the biggest wick i can find? You're just going to have to pick one and try it. Try an LX 30 and an Eco 16 and see what happens. No way to know for sure until you do it. BTW, the biggest wick isn't always the best. If its too big, it might tunnel too. nursenancy
If its too big, it might tunnel tooAbsolutely - rate of consumption - took me awhile to figure that one out, LOL

It is hard to say any more. All of the waxes and many of the wicks have changed so much over the recent years. Likewise, the fragrance, fragrance %, and any colorants changes the entire candle. one thing I learned was to play with spacing. Sometimes you can space them just close enough or far enough to balance the heat from the flames with the rate of consumption.
