New at candle making and getting very discouraged!!1lb of GB 464Heated to 175-added colorremoved from heatadded 1 oz of Sweet Pea FO at 170stirred and poured 1 at 170 and 1 at 150Using 12 oz jars with Eco wicks 10Pre heated jars and also covered with box so it wouldn't cool to fastBoth had air pockets but the 150 had less.Hope I gave all the info needed. still new at all of this Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jnkthailand Posted November 19, 2010 Share Posted November 19, 2010 We heat to 185 (recommended by manufacturer), add FO, we don't use dyes, stir the oil for 2 minutes, let set until temp reaches 150-155 and then pour. We also preheat our jars. We used to pour at lower temps but had problems with pockets. Some FO still have pockets at the 150-155 but most of them do good at that.Hope this helps...
