tonyjazz
Working on seascape gel candles in a wide format. Using HD gel. I found some real small starfish to use. I worked up the inner artwork and placed the starfish. When I poured the gel it started to fizz like an Alka-Seltzer...................should I stay away from this embed or can I clean it, thinking the salt in it caused the fizz?.........I placed it far away from the wick, I know they can burn..........any suggestions................Thanx.......TJ Edited November 11, 2010 by tonyjazz
Vicky_CO
You need to soak them in mineral oil for at least 24 hours. I personally would not put them in any candle but forever ones
tonyjazz
Thanks Vicky, never even realized there was such a thing as forever candles. New to candle making but, been an artist for a long time and applying what I know about that and photography to my candle making experience here. I'm excited by all I see here and the fine chandlers and their artwork. Your advice is well taken.....thanx
