Darbla
http://www.appledolls.org/I have been looking at these apple head dolls, and think they are just adorable. I am looking for a "granny" doll and like these. Do any of you have any experience with these, as in how long does the apple last? Seems like it would rot away after awhile, and I'm especially concerned about that because I live in an extremely humid climate. If any of you know of any cute granny dolls anywhere, I'd love to check them out. Lightning Bug
You should try carving a head. Years ago I carved one and let it dry just to see how it would look. It is hard to remember, but I think it shrunk alot and also darkened. They suggest lemon juice to keep the color lighter. Humidity would probably be really hard on them as apple slices pick up the moisture if left out of the storage container. So, not sure how they would last, but it might be a kick to make one. Kitn
I used to make them. They lasted a very long time for me, I don't live in a humid climate tho. Try it, it is a lot of fun..
TexasBrat
lol...I have seen those before, they are funny. I have never tried them but wanted to but it was one of those crafts you have to wait for to finish curing. Make sure you post if you make them.
