Georgia
Well, I haven't played with wax in a while and it showed. After 2 days and many bad words these finally came out of the mold with chunks falling off everywhere. I brushed them with a wire brush and attempted a crackle. I don't think it worked well. Should I just melt them down and start again? They are spiced cranberry, by the way, and smell delish!
Georgia
28 views and no one has an opinion? You wont' hurt my feelings if you tell me to throw them back in the pot as that is what I am leaning towards...
ladysj
Just my opinion but if they were mine I would remelt them & try again. They look pretty rough.
Kitn
I like what you were going for, I would try to do them over if you could or just use them yourself..The color is stunning, I wish I could smell them.
soy327
I'm with kitn, I love the color but don't know anything but starburst. Go for the gusto melt em:yay:
Ravens
Perhaps you should melt them and try again; looks like they've been through a few rough battles. Don't feel bad, you should have seen my ornies; instead of looking like a gingerbread man they looked like the monster of the Blue Lagoon... just awful, my husband couldn't stop laughing, same with my daughter, and through their tears (of laughter) they kept saying "oh, but they're not that bad...." and kept laughing - so I quit making them:embarasse
AnjieBurdett
ROFL @ Raven! Sounds like my family ;0) Georgia, looking at the first photo i'd say remelt them and try again. Is the 2nd photo the same pillars? How did you do that crackle thing? I really like that! Anjie,x.
Georgia
yes, they are the same pillars - as they came out of the mold and after I attempted a crackle to cover their blemishes. They actually have more crackle this morning, but look just as sad. Back in the pot they go.

debratant
I really like that crackled look in the second pic. But I want to know how you got themto be soooo shiney? The shine is stunning. I would love to have a shine like that.To get the crackled look...don't you submerge the mold with wax into a cold water bath?
cybersix
Dear Georgia, if those were mine I'd melt them down in a second.I can't stand any imperfection, or what I thin it's an imperfection.Crumbling rustics are my worst nightmare!!!
