Wessex
Hey All,Anyone else having troubles with Design Pro constantly crashing? It worked great for about 2 days, but now is useless. It is really pi**ing me off! I guess even though it says it works with Windows 7, it does not. Just venting.Have searched for fixes but apparently Avery doesn't care enough to provide any. Anyone happen to know of any fixes for this program? I really do not feel like buying a label making program for a hobby. And for some reason Dell did not provide my new computer with a product code for the preinstalled Word program! This is another company going quickly downhill. Sorry, more venting.Cheers,Steve Edited August 19, 2010 by Wessex
xxxtennillexxx
I use Avery Design Pro & have the same problems evey time I use it. I have learned to save after every single change I make. It pisses me off something fierce! I will be alomost finished & it will close down on me. My husband is an IT geek & he said that's what you get w/free software! I don't see the point in purchasing a program for my own personal use either. Sucks but I just deal with it.
koala-nut
It won't even let me save a project any more. All I get is an error message wanting to know what program made it so the computer can open it up.
Johnna
I run Windows XP and have had no issues whatsoever... I had bought another label/sign program and it never worked correctly for me and I wasted a lot labels.. I also tried just downloading Microsoft templates... still a failure for me. I wonder if you looked closely on the initial site if they have a tech help maybe?
Candybee
If I remember correctly Windows 7 is the program that is not compatible with running Avery DesignPro. Like Joanna I have Windows XP and DesignPro runs beautifully.
LuminousBoutique
Windows 7 is the problem.. not Avery, sadly. So, Windows is working on plug ins and such... but I doubt this is super high on their list. I have XP on my laptop and we are desperately trying to keep it alive, because you cant really buy laptops without Vista or Windows 7 on them anymore.. but this laptop is almot 6 years old and I'm feeling its age... pamperme
XP here and never had a problem. Love that program! Wish they had more clip art though. I need to buy some clip art for flyers and stuff. Even MS Office does not seem to have as much as they use to even online.
Starr
Can't stand the damn thing! I started using Labels by the Sheet's stuff though and their templates are super easy.
Wessex
Well figured out one problem. If I use the insert text icon, the program crashes. If I use the insert text drop down menu, it doesn't crash. Go figure. Hope this might be helpful to someone.Cheers,Steve
Altbayer
Wessex is correct - in Windows 7, using the drop-down menus ti initiate text or image insertion seems to work just fine. Whenever I try the toolbar icons on the side, the program crashes. So, looks like the problem belongs to Avery, not Microsoft. For a long-time user of the program like myself, this is really frustrating.
