Aquatech's Omega 3 Hemp Lotion & Odor!!

Just received this today and noticed it has an odor to it that I was not expecting making it a bit hard to totally cover up with fo's. Anyone else notice this? According to the website you can add up to 1% fo...for those that use this base is that how much you are adding or are you adding more? Is this just how Hemp lotion is suppose to smell? I'm kinda bummed about it.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Uh, oh... my gallon of this stuff is scheduled to be delivered today. I'll post later tonight when I get home to let you know if I also detect an odor. Bummer!

Please do Candlemamma....I re-smelled (I think that's a word) it today and the odor is not as pronounced as it was yesterday. Maybe it had something to do with the summer heat and shipping. I don't know but there is still an odor to it...maybe I should call it a smell and it could be this is just it's natural odor because of the hemp and omega-3 stuff. I guess I'm just used to my other lotion bases that are practically odor free. Maybe I'll just have to use stronger fo's with this...I'll keep testing.

It does have a great feel and is non-greasy. You do only need a small pump of it. If you use too much it can be a little greasy. This is good news for clients...it'll last longer. If I put this in my line, I'm thinking of using a 4 oz. bottle because of this.

I'm hoping this base works as it's a great item with all it's natural goodness. I've also tested the new NG Natural Multi-Base lotions...soy Body Butter and Yogurt and love them!! So great.

Anyway...let me know what you think...I'm curious if it's just me.

I agree. Mine has a mild odor or smell as well. My husband also smelled it and described it as waxy. I can't quite put my finger on it. Last night I put the unscented base on my hands and arms. The odor faded after several minutes, so I was just left with soft skin.

Today I made two 10-oz bottles and scented one with Moonworks Fairy Garden for me and the other with Moonworks Saffron and Spice for DH. Both seemed to cover the base smell perfectly. I used about 1%, which is actually too strong with these FOs. I'll go down to .5-.75% next time.

As for the feel of the lotion, I'm very happy with it. I agree that a little goes a long, long way. My skin feels very smooth and soft. Overall, I'm very happy with this lotion base!!

Candlemama..I was just getting ready to ask if you'd had a chance to test it yet!!! Glad you also noticed a slight smell. I agree..Moonwork's fo's are strong. I'm going to re-test this again now that I've had a day or two away from it and perhaps have gained a new perspective and a new sense of smell. It could have just been the heat from shipping made it seem stronger. Now that is has sat at room temp for a couple of days I don't notice it as strong.

It does leave the skin feeling wonderful which is why I want it to work for me. The reviews from other posts have been nothing but great. I'll post my re-testing results.

I absolutely love this base! I prefer a lotion that doesn't make me feel like I need to put more on right after just putting some on. Does that make sense? I also have wsp's gmh lotion, but it feels drying to me. Others just LOVE it, but I personally don't like it. I've never had a problem with an odor from the hemp lotion. It's just FAB!!

I've tested the AT hemp lotion and also love it...my favorite in feel...but it does have a bit of an odor unlike other bases I've tried. Used unscented, the smell does fade quickly. If you look at their ingredient list I think hemp oil is second after water.

I have bottles of regular hemp oil and de-odorized hemp...I can still smell the hemp aroma in the de-odorized so this is probably what is noticable in the base. I've only tried a couple of fragrances in it and they seemed to cover it well.
