rebeccajo99
I just poured recipe #2 of my lotion bars to test and now I have a question.I was going to color this batch just so I could tell my batchs apart. Also, I thought it was a way for my testers to distinguish between different bars when I get to that point. So, since I had it on hand, I grabbed my soap dye (glycerin disbursed mica) and poured a little bit in... nada, just sat on the bottom of my bowl like a lump on a log and wouldn't disburse into the lotion mixture. So, I did some research and some say to use jojoba spheres. Does anybody use those and where do you get them? Also, does anybody else color their lotion bars? when I did a search on Etsy to find out what ingrediants people were using, most seemed dye free... so it might not be something that is easily colorable. Thanks in advance. LovelyLathers
You need an oil soluble colorant, glycern is not. Like these http://www.tkbtrading.com/category.php?category_id=
rebeccajo99
Thank you so much!!!!I have not decided if I'm going to leave them dye free or color them once I get them marketable, so I'm just going to have to be creative in keeping them streight when I start giving them as testers. I don't want to buy some dyes just for testers unless I plan on using them for the market. At least I know where to get them if I do decide to color my lotion bars. Why don't you make them different shapes. That might work.
Kitn
I use an alphabet stamp to mark the bars to tell the batches or fragrances apart. I just keep a key to the marks on my recipe sheet.
