Soylicious
Hello everyone I got my order of Glass Glow Palm wax today and I'm so excited! But I still need to purchase some wicks and was curious if you need to wick up with Palm like you do with Soy? I have been going by the Candle Science website's wick guide and wicking up 2 wick sizes with my soy wax to get a good burn and FMP. Since this is going to be my first time using Glass Glow, (I can hardly wait!!!) I am wondering if wicking up is necessary with Palm wax like it is with Soy? Any opinions and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Oh and P.S.. I am going to be trying the CSN wicks...
Candybee
I use the CSN wicks in my glass glow. I found that the wick guide is off when suggesting the size wick for containers. I had to wick down a size from the guide. The suggested wick burned with a tall flame and consumed wax too fast. So wicking down helped with that as I wanted my candles to burn longer without the torch. I still get complete wax consumption, better flame height, and great scent throw by wicking down a size. soy327
I have found the same as candybee.Candybee, are you getting a flame that dances around alot? I am testing the 9oz hex jars, a csn 12, 11. Thinking I might try a csn 9. What do you think. I have a little hangup 1/2 down with the csn11 it doesn't bother me though. It's doing pretty good. pcbrook
You definitely do not have to wick up like with soy. I also use the CSNs and also go down a couple sizes from Candlesciense's wicking chart. If you go by their recommendation you usually have such a huge flame it is scary. :tiptoe:

It's doing pretty good.I use these jars and found that with many FOs I could wick them with a CSN 9 and while it took quite a few burns to get rid of hang-up with most FOs, the throw was really lacking. They just don't seem to burn hot enough to get that throw I'm wanting. The 11 and 12's work good with most FOS and the throw is much better. I have actually found that while the 12's burn a little hotter than I want, the throw is the overall best with them.
soy327
Thanks, Meridith.Soylicious, hope this helps, if you tell us what jar you are using it would be helpful. We want to see picks:yay:
debratant
I just started test burning 3 different csn wicks with my cracklin birch fo. Like Candybee said...I'm going to need to wick down from the CS wick guide. Holyflamethrower!!! I took a pic of my HUGE flame, but my desktop computer doesn't seem to want to turn on today so I'm on the laptop. I'd certainly wick down too!
