Eenie meenie...FOs to test for fall

Recommended Posts

I'm in testing stages now for tart/melt/wickless & I would like to have some scents & wax formulations ready to at least give some items as gifts during the fall/winter.

So obviously I want to test fall/winter scents right now (although the spring/summer scents sure are enticing lol)

I am testing KY parasoy right now and so far I am liking how it pours w/ the couple of scents I got with it (Santa's whiskers, pink sugar cookies)

I pour both 2oz souffle cups & the 1oz scallop tarts right now, while I figure out scent and such for testing since those are what I have on hand.

These are the scents I have picked out to test from NG if anyone could give me a quick review/idea of them that would be great:

Fruity Rings

Alien Type

Apples and Oak

Autumn Magic

Bite Me

Berry Bewitching Brew

Buttercream Cupcake

Candy Corn

Elf Sweat

Harvest Moon

Orange Juice Cake

Pumpkin Crunch Cake

Reindeer Poo

Blue Hawaiian

Vamp Vogue

Witching Hour

Sun, Moon & Stars

Cane Sugar Cookie

Happy Birthday Vanilla Cupcake

Magi Magic

Snickerdoodle Cookies

Tricks or Treats

Sparkling Cider

So there are the scents I am ordering now, any I should add or that are 'blech'? (I only ordered

I know I have a couple 'holiday' types, but for right now I am wanting to just order fall to Thanksgiving and worry about the December holidays in my next order.

Any other suppliers offer a better version? I'm looking at CS & possibly WSP for a future order, while I figure out where to get the majority of my scents. (I'm on the east coast if that makes any difference).

Thanks in advance,

Pumpkin Crunch Cake is AWESOME. I use it in 4627 and the HT is out of this world. You'll want to eat it (or maybe that's just me, I don't know, but it does smell good!)

The only other one on your list that I use is Autumn Magic. I love that one as well. It's a very warm, woodsy fragrance with a little musk. It's different. Also throws really well in 4627.

Hopefully some others can chime in but it looks like you're off to a good start!

I use KY's parasoy mix for tarts and out of the scents you listed:

Fruity Rings smells just like the cereal Fruit Loops

Candy Corn is great-smells just like the candy-great for Halloween

Pumpkin Crunch Cake - really great

I haven't tried the others you mentioned.

You might want to try:

Mrs. Claus Cookies (NG)

Peppermint Patty (NG)

Amish Friendship Bread (NG)-great seller for me

Orange-Clove (NG)

Pumpkin Creme Brulee (AH/RE)

Pumpkin Cheesecake (AH/RE) (both of these are really yummy)

Cranberry Marmalade (Candlescience)

Mistletoe (Candlescience)

Raspberry Truffle (Candlescience)

Very Vanilla (Candlescience)

Country Christmas (AH/RE)

Plumberry Spice (KY)

Madagascar Spice (AH/RE)-I renamed this Spiced Wassil

Fallen Leaves (AH/RE)

Apple Jack & Peel (I forget where I get this from but lots of suppliers carry one)

That's all I can think of right now.....have fun and let us know how some of the other ones did. Always looking for something new.

I've tried the following (I use KY parasoy waxes):

Fruity Rings - EXACTLY like the cereal (great ct & ht)

Alien Type - never smelled the original, but I'm a big fan of this one (don't do candles or tarts with this one, only b&B)

Apples and Oak - a light apple, but customers do love it

Autumn Magic - FABULOUS!!

Berry Bewitching Brew - not a fan (it's strong, but I hate the scent)

Buttercream Cupcake - GREAT seller for us

Candy Corn - doesn't smell like candy corn to me at all

Harvest Moon - definitely different - nice scent, but couldn't get customers to bite and try this one

Reindeer Poo - lighter scent -- doesn't smell at all like a Christmas scent

Werewolf - never tested in candles/tarts, but it is a nice masculine scent

Witching Hour - yuck! a strange sweet cinnamon something (I hated it)

Snickerdoodle Cookies - very nice (great ht & ct)

I buy a ton of fragrance oils from KY ... I use them individually and mix them too ...

Banana Cream + Creme Brulee = Banana Pudding

Pumpkin Pie + Creme Brulee = Pumpkin Brulee

Hot Chocolate + Roasted Coffee = Mocha Capuccino

Creme Brulee + Roasted Coffee = Cafe Brulee

Apple Jack & Peel + Pumpkin Pie = Harvest

Red Apple + Cinnamon Red Hot + Caramel Pecan = Candy Apple Crunch

Hot Chocolate + Graham Cracker Crust = Elf 'n Grahams

Hot Chocolate + Graham Cracker Crust + Toasted Marshmallow = Smores

Homemade Apple Pie + Macintosh Apple + Cinnamon Red Hot = Spiced Apple

Icy Peppermint + Creme Brulee = Buttermint

Birthday Cake + Gingerbread = Frosted Gingerbread

Orange Chiffon Cake + Pumpkin Pie = Orange Pumpkin

Plum Berry Spice

Sugar Corn Pudding

Coconut Cream Pie

Lemon Pound Cake + Blueberry Burst = Lemon Blueberry Muffin

Vermont Maple Syrup

Banana Nut Bread

Grandmother's Toddy

Creme Brulee + Sweet n Creamy = Candy Corn

(The only scents that I don't use by themselves is Sweet n Creamy and Pumpkin Pie ... I think they're good mixers.)

As you can tell, I love KY's fragrance oils ... my main supplier for fall/holiday/bakery scents! I use 6006 at 6-8%.

Thanks for all the great info and ideas. I have to put another order for my wax so I'll check out some more of her FOs.

Thanks again, this really did help me keep from getting super overwhelmed with choices lol.
