bells4shells
I have a friend who was burning a cake candle that was to die for! She didn't know where she got it and I don't know the brand either. I found one at Elements that was spot on, but didn't give a very good hot throw. Is anyone familiar with the scent and know if anyone else carries something similar to Elements but with a good throw?I've tried AE/RE and theirs was too buttery and I just poured Peaks and it has a very slight nutty undertone to it that I'm not sure I like. Candlebuddy
I'm not sure if this will help but, I love Birthday Cake from KY and also from Alabaster ... both are strong throwers (hot & cold) in 6006. Recently, I discovered Sugar Cookies from www.mecandlesupply.com ... to my nose, it smells exactly like vanilla frosting ... strong cold/hot throw in 6006 as well. Maggie
I agree with candlebuddy.I LOVE Birthday Cake from KY. It throws well in my parasoy at 8% FO per lb. I was going through some fragrance oil samples and came across a free tart that Vickey had sent with one of my orders...it was Birthday Cake. OMG...I put in in my electric burner and it about ran us out of the house...it was so strong. To my nose KY's smells just like a vanilla birthday cake
bells4shells
Thanks for the replies! Is it a cake batter scent? The one from Elements really smells like it's baking in the oven. It's not super buttery and it's just awesome. I just wish it was stronger. lol I'll look into KY though! Are there any others you'd recommend from them? I always hate ordering just one thing... bells4shells
I had to update that I've got the Peaks version in my plugin melter and it has a great throw! And whatever nutty notes I smelled earlier are not there (I blame candle nose). I just put in an order through KY, but had to update this since I noticed the huge difference! I'm guessing I didn't wait enough on cure or I'll have to change wicks on this one. Mmmm! It's good.
