oakbrookcandles
Anyone using red hot cinnamon from candle science? Using 6% in 2 different waxes cbl 125 and 6006.Every wick burns well for about 15 mins then dyes down. Im thinking a clogged wick, as the wick itself is not totally burning away.HAve tried, HTp, ECO, fil tec, zinc.... and others. To test if it was the dye i melted several down and poured into a tin cup and it burnt fine so we can rule out the dye as the culprit.Gonna do another pour with less fragrance... bummer i really like this scent too. topofmurrayhill
There is at least one fragrance manufacturer that had problems with this FO recently and had to change the formulation to make it burn properly again. They did ship some of the cinnamon red hot that didn't work. Apparently the problem came from further up the supply chain, as one of their raw materials seemed to have changed. An aquaintance of mine who produces quite a lot of candles was affected by the problem. He is the one who had the conversation with the manufacturer and conveyed the story to me.I definitely have no idea whether this story has any bearing on what you are experiencing with the CandleScience FO. But of course your post made me think of it, so I'm sharing what I heard. Edited April 22, 2010 by topofmurrayhill
oakbrookcandles
Very interesting top. Its just odd as ive used over 100 fragrances playing around and in production and this is the only one this has ever happened with.Interesting dilema. Still tinkering with it. Overwicking it makes it burn longer but eventually it dies out too. oh well lotsa other cinnamons out there.

Dana
Read this http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90845&highlight=red+hot+cinnamon We are having this same problem! Only I haven't been able to burn MC's like I would like it to for years!
Ravens
I did not use it in candles 'cause I don't make them. However I've used it in tarts; used 2 different waxes, it just doesn't throw well at all. Guess not every single FO from CS can be great... Candybee
This must be something new. I have been using Red Hot Cinnamon from CS for years and had no problems. I even have a bottle from last year and my candles burn fine using that. Haven't reordered this year as I switched to Cinnamon Bun. Looks like the switch turned out to be a better idea than I thought.
