candlemama
I've made a couple batches of M&P soap and added some refined, deodorized cocoa butter I bought from EBC. I also have shea butter which is softer and easier to work with. The cocoa butter is pretty hard and difficult to get out of the container. It crumbles when I try to scoop it out. Is this normal, or did I get an old batch or something?
LuminousBoutique
nope thats just how it is. I buy it in large buckets, and use a knife to cut "chunks" out. Its practically impossible to scoop out with a spoon or something similar.
candlemama
Thanks. Just wanted to make sure mine is still good!
Noodle
I hope that you like your cocoa butter in your finished soap! I have never used deodorized cocoa butter before. I just love that chocolate smell. It is my favorite butter rumbles and all. It takes longer to melt, but that is no big deal.
Candybee
Cocoa butter is a great additive for soap. I used to buy the cocoa butter bases from C&S and loved them! Now I just buy white bases and add in my own additives.I love how silky the soap bar felt and how moisturizing it was with the cocoa butter.
