Jenny
Okay, so this is the only container wax that I have ever used. I usually only make small batches at a time, ie: one pound. Well, I am making 50 baby food jar candles, and I am SICK of this wax. It has amazing throw, but seriously there has got to be a better way! Messy, hard to dig out, think I'm getting arthritis my hands hurt so bad! So, after all of this ranting, I am off to find a new wax. Any suggestions for something with great throw, comparable to 4627, high FO load, EASY to use!?
topofmurrayhill
What about 4630?
Jenny
Do you just slice through the slab, or beat it to death?
topofmurrayhill
It's been a while since I used it, but they were easily sliceable slabs.
psfponies
I use 6006A container wax. I have great HT and it cuts like butter! Best of all its one pour.Kay
dnj
I use 6006 also and love the HT and CT I get from this wax. I have also tried the 4630 and I really like that one too. Both come in slab form and love how easy they are to slice :smiley2:
topofmurrayhill
They are both good choices to try. 4630 is more similar to the 4627, except it comes in easy-to-use slabs. 6006 is a slightly different animal. All are one-pour, expecially into baby food jars.
lsbennis
I use 4630 in my parasoy blend and its real easy to work with...just slice it like butter.

I get no hot throw whatsoever or its very weak.....not sure why....some people rave about it and I cant get anything decent from it...my scents are from Peaks, Candlesicence and Natures Garden all at 7-8% per lb ...I ve tried cotton cored, htp's and CD wicks .....just cant get 6006 to work for me. Jenny
Thanks for all the replies! :yay:I am going to have to try these others out. Never again will I deal with 4627!
topofmurrayhill
Try here: http://www.candlescience.com/wax/paraffin-wax.phpThe shipping rates are very good. 4630 is at the top, 6006 down at the bottom.
Jenny
Thanks! Too bad I just ordered from CS! I had to jump on the sample sale! I am going to wait until I finish out all 4627, and then start fresh!
chuck_35550
I would advise buying a slab of each and do a little testing. Try 85% 6006 with 15% soy at 180 degrees into room temp jars and don't cover. Wicking is a little tricky (cd or cdn) but the results are very pleasing. xxxtennillexxx
I noticed you order FO from NG. I use the NG Wow wax and really like it. It comes in slabs that are very easy to cut and the HT is great. I'm not sure where you live but shipping seems very reasonable from there as well. Jenny
Can't wait to dabble in new waxes! If only I could stop ordering so many FO's!
awickedscent
I think this wax is pretty easy to use. If you are cutting small amounts try using picture hanging wire and slice pieces off.
Jenny
I will have to try that (or something like it) for the remainder of my wax! Thanks!
