yummysusi
Hi all.I have just joined up and have enjoyed reading your posts.I love candle making here in Adelaide.I appreciated the candle nose observations you all made. One tip a local lady passed on to me was keeping a tin of coffee beans or coffee grounds to reset the nose during testing. Before walking into a room with your test candle sniff the coffee lightly and you will notice the difference.Hope this helps you as much as it helped me.SusiAdelaideSouth Australia
NewOrleansLady
I keep coffee grounds at my shop on the display area so customers can use it between sniffing scents. I find the grounded beans work better than the whole ones.
Meridith
Coffee beans are a pretty old and true way to clear the sinuses. I also once read that you can put your shirt over your nose, inhale a few times deeply, and this will clear your sinuses temporarily. I have found that this actually does work for a quick sniff but it does not work as well as the coffee beans.
Stella1952
Yep - I agree ground coffee does work better than beans. The only time sniffing my clothes worked was when I'd been working in the yard all day! *faint*Welcome, Susi!
NaturallyTru
I have also heard that you can sniff your arm (forearm, not under...lol!). I've tried it and it does work.Trudi
