Darbla
Maybe stars, butterflies, whatever to make a rustic candle holder (not to pour wax in). I'm thinking of this for a primitive decorating idea to set votives or pillars down in, but I don't know if there's a correct word or phrase to use to search for something to punch those holes. Vicky_CO
How about a torch but hey I am in to over kill. Now seriously I would look in to a dremel with some cutting blades.
TexasBrat
I remember some people doing this a long time ago and what I remember is they would take the can and fill it with water and place in the freezer. Then after the water is frozen, I think they used an awl? (sp?) tool and would just sort of punch out the design. I think they placed the design over the can to punch out the design. That is the best I can remember.
Desertrose
I've been looking to find such a tool myself for exactly the same reason.I've had the same problems too trying to search for whatever the heck it would be called! kyme1911
Happy to help, I have always thought that would be fun to do. I have heard it helps to fill them with water and freeze, for a solid surface inside. I don't know how practical that would be.:)Kyme
Desertrose
Yes, I've done that in the past when just using a hammer and nail to punch out a design. It works, but you'd have to be quick in summer here co's that ice is going to start melting pretty quickly.
