jnewport
I know you should wait at least a week before testing votives for scent but do you have to wait that long to test the wicks? I am using Ecosoya PB. Thanks, Jeanne
topofmurrayhill
You can test the wicks right away. It would be so tedious to design a candle if you needed curing time for wick testing.
jnewport
Top, That's what I thought but wanted to confirm. Thank you, Jeanne
MarcyHK
Hi, I hope you won't mind if I hijack your question a bit...Being still new at this (and rather dense) I guess I thought you had to cure before testing the wick as well as the scent throw. It's what I've been doing! Can I just get clarification on whether I don't need to wait past initial cooling for wick testing in any kind of wax or container/form? deb426
There's no reason to wait past a day or two to test your wicks. You only need to cure the candle to get the best scent throw, especially in soy.

Stella1952
I wait out the curing time so I can test both for wicking and HT at the same time. I don't wanna just know if the wick will burn the candle properly, I wanna know if it'll burn properly AND give me a good hot throw. Sometimes I get lucky!
