ronzo
how does Yankee candle and other makers achieve that old fashioned, mottled look? what wax types etc. Thanks Ronzo
kimmeroo
Hi Ronzo!I used to make mottled candles! They are gorgeous! I make them for myself now, unless someone requests them. Anyhow, I always got my mottling wax from Candles & Supplies in PA..I used their 125mp paraffin.Everything is all added into the wax so all you have to do is melt, bring it to temp.,scent, color then pour.I will warn you though..when I did my very first batch I checked on them and they weren't mottled! I started freaking out..I called the company and they said I hadn't waited long enough to trust them they will mottle.Next day they did..it takes a while though. Before they mottle they look translucent. I hope this helps a little. Kim
ronzo
I should have stated mottled look in a container. Ronzo
grama
ronzo I have also wondered about that. Guess you buy the mottling wax for containers. Never tried to find the wax though. To me you could maybe use the think it is the frost palm wax.

grama
I really like those Jokerjen. How do they burn?
Jokerjen
They burn pretty clean for parrafin, as long aas you keep the wick trimmed, and there is not much wasted at the bottom...I tested them and tested them, you can pretty much burn them until there is nothing left , although we all know that is not reccommended......:tiptoe:
