willow22
I have a couple batches I made about 4 weeks ago and I know we haven't used as much as is missing out of the bottle or jar. Has anyone experienced this before? What might cause this to happen?

sudsnwicks
It sounds like settling might have occurred.
willow22
It sounds like settling might have occurred. Why would it settle?
Carrie
Maybe you could make up a new batch and put it away and don't use it. See if it settles.Do you have kids in the house? They may be using it when you aren't looking.
mparadise
I know when I fill my bottles I usually get little air bubbles in the lotion that eventually work their way out of the lotion causing the fill level to drop just a little bit. I bet that is what is happening.
CareBear
Why would it settle?Because when you mixed it, you may have incorporated some air that slowly worked its way to the top an out.
sudsnwicks
Yes, often air gets incorporated into the mixture. It is sort of like when you buy a box of cereal and the product doesn't come all the way to the top of the box.
TheQueen
Why don't you weigh it when you pour into your containers then weigh again later. I suspect settling is, indeed, the problem.
