Curling wicks

How exactly is this done and what type of wicking is used?

Take the very end and wrap it around a pencil or skewer, hold the end and wind it tightly. Pull out the skewer or pencil. Be sure to let your customers know they must cot off the curly part.

When I did this I used zincs....I dont know about the others being able to hold the curl though if they dont have the metal in them.
