I'm working on my first chunk candles and have the wax poured for the chunks. How long should I let those cure before putting them in my jars and pouring the over pour. I am using ecosoya 135 for my candles.

Thanks

Generally, I don't wait for chunks to cure. I go ahead and put them in my candles I'm making then let the candles cure.

But I often make chunks ahead of time so I have them ready for making candles. I store them in zip lock bags.

That does seem reasonable.

Another quick question... can you speed up the hardening time for the chunks in the refridgerator or outside if it is cold? I poured the chunks at 12:30 today and 2 hours later it just feels like fudge you would get from Mackinac Island (yes I live in Michigan :smiley2: ) Is is possible to just stick it in the fridge so I can pour the overpour tonight?

I use a harder wax like a pillar/votive wax for my chunks. I pour into small tray pans about 1 inch deep. The wax is hard in less than an hour. I start cutting into the wax when its still soft and pliable to make my chunks.

Yes, you can, either one will work. I do it all winter long to speed things up.
